"Brady, who is in the midst of his 21st season and first with the Buccaneers, has been sacked 513 times during his illustrious career. That ties him with Ben Roethlisberger for third all-time. Both quarterbacks could soon pass John Elway, who was sacked 516 times during his Hall of Fame career. Brett Favre, who made a record 297 consecutive starts during his Hall of Fame career, holds the record after being sacked 525 times during his 20-year career.

"The 43-year-old Brady has been sacked 13 times in nine games this season."

Since I want Ben to have more longevity, I say the sack record eventually will be his.

But when you look at the QBs at the top of that list, the dubious record, has quite elite company. Of course, you have to be good to hang around long enough to get it. Just like total interceptions. I count maybe 6 retired QBs who have 200+ starts. Starting year one, having success, along with modern medicine definitely extends players game opportunities. Ben will likely retire top 5 in many categories (top 7 in TDs) with a few current players on his heels.

I wonder how many Roughing the Passer penalties Brady got to nullify several of his sacks while Ben was busy getting his nose broke and head slammed to the turf? I'd say it's probably 20 or more.

Gosh, that seems hard to believe... we could never touch Brady all those years?

I was shocked when I read it. I admit I refused to watch most Patriot games but those I did see, Brady was always upright.

And when he wasn't he was giving the "Throw the damn flag" signal along with a sly wink.

Ben was like murdered especially in 2008 when they won the Super Bowl he got sacked a ton. That O-Line was really scrutinized by the fan base, but Ben used to hold the ball a super long time back then too.

Bruce Arians offense leads to sacks. That’s why we got rid of him. Now he’s got Byron Leftwich calling plays. Brady needs Antonio and just play catch with him.

I had to look that up, figured it must be a mistake, shockingly it’s accurate.

500 of those sacks must be defenders laying a finger on Brady and the ref blowing the play dead.

Think of how many times Brady would have been sacked if his O line in New England weren't allowed to constantly hold.

I read an article today about it being a dubious 'record' to hold. Well the top 3 right now are Farve, Brady and Ben...I think any NFL QB would throw himself on the ground for that 'dubious' record for any one of their careers.
