Heck I'm one of the more doom and gloom posters on here and even I am sure we are going to win today. I'm just worried about stupid injuries.

Dallas will have their moments in the game, just not many of them.

The Jags loss was bad but there were reasons. The first is the Jags defense, we couldn't run or throw as they had not one, but two shut down CBs. They had LBers that could cover TEs and a defensive line that applied pressure with only rushing 4. The second part was the defense was really bad, that defense could not stop the run and teams that could run gave the Steelers problems.

Remember, that was a team that had to score 30 points or more a game in order to win. The Tebow game was due to the Broncos having a stout defense and the Steelers not being able to stop the run. So playing a bad QB they sold out to play the run. They put 8 guys in the box and played man coverage with no deep help. Tebow completed 10 passes but it was for over 300 yards, the only game he did it in his career.

As for Elliot being out, well I'd rather see him than Pollard. Pollard looks much better as he accelerates fast and can cut back with the best of them. Elliot look slow by comparison so I'm hoping the team doesn't look past this team. This is going to be their superbowl game and I expect they are going to play better than they have been.

Last year we lost Ben. Say what you will about it, the smartest thing the Steelers did was not to try to sign a QB who could replace him, but to trade for Minka, giving up a first round pick. That told the team that they weren't tanking, that they still believed they could win. And it set the stage for what they're doing this year.
Dallas is a hot mess. There's carping in the locker room. They have no clear direction. But they were a mess before Dak went down. They were 2-3, and the first win was only because Atlanta was a hotter mess (at the time). They'll have nothing to build on for next year.

On paper we should destroy Dallas. In reality it will probably be another nail biter. Tomlin has a very unique way of playing down to the competition.

I don't see how the Steelers can't have a bit of a letdown in this one. I mean, how does anyone look at the Cowboys and not see a patsy? It's a game where they will have to bring their own motivation, but they are human and human nature makes it difficult to get up for a game like this. I still don't think Dallas is capable of actually taking advantage of it enough to actually win though. It sounds nuts, but I almost hope our first drive isn't any easy touchdown because the letdown from there would be even worse.

Avoiding a letdown isn't as difficult as people make it out to be. Show up prepared to play. Do their jobs. That's it. Sadly, Tomlin's Steelers fail to do that far too often when the competition is weak.

Those reasonable thoughts aren't allowed, we all know the reason they lost those games is because Tomlin didn't have the team prepared.

Mike has a history of having his team unprepared at times when it comes to competition that we should defeat easily.

BS, you have to factor in road Ben, he would have bad games and turn the ball over too much.

If you don't think that Mike Tomlin had his team unprepared this week then you need to have your head examined. This was yet another fine example of him overlooking the competition. Probably no bigger example actually. This team thought they were in for a cake walk and escaped with the victory by the skin of their teeth.
