Tomlin challenges the spot-of-the-ball way too often. These are hard challenges to win, and the reply officials seem loath to overturn them. If you keep making low probability challenges, your record won't be good and Tonlims isn't.

The refs don't like Tomlin for no good reason.

    That's a double negative isn't it?

This does not explain it all of course, but I heard an interesting take on this recently. Each network has different protocol on how many cameras then have at games. On a lower tier game it can be as few as 6, leaving many angles uncovered. The implications of one call being called wrong and impacting a game and possibly even a season come down to this. Nothing is ever going to be perfect, but just found this interesting for some reason.

You're right. Think the issue was you have to complete a pass/catch after landing or being tackled vs crossing the goal line with possession. The question then was, what constitutes a catch. They changed the rule I believe and that would have been a TD today.

It would have been a TD in every year of the NFL's existence.........except that year.

I don't get the 'control of the ball' in existence.

It would be easier imo if:
Bobble the ball & drop it- incomplete.
Bobble the ball & still hold on to it- completion.

This was one of the only times I can remember actually agreeing with MT challenging.

Sod’s law that it ended up being a bad call by the refs.

I say we just give up on challenging altogether. Positive spin on it would be that it feels like we get an extra TO each game!
