I missed nothing. I know what you want to rant about and stand by what I said.

Edit: ok, I'll elaborate. Ben getting fined had nothing to do with the message. He wasn't being singled out for any particular belief. It was simply against the rules. Period.

Now, the League has changed its policy. Yes, they were pushed into changing it due to current events, and players becoming very vocal. But again, I believe the change of heart is less about message than it is about giving in and allowing players to express themselves. Not to mention that it's apparent the players were going to push the rule anyway. There's a groundswell building. It's easier to just relax the rule than to go through constant fights over fines.

There was no such groundswell 15 or 16 years ago. If there had been, perhaps Ben could have been allowed to continue.

Of coarse the squeaky wheel gets the grease but does that now open Pandora's box to numerous other societal concerns that may interrupt the BLM stance? The two examples I gave before come to mind. Murdered police officers and Cannon Hinnant. In the end, sports are being hijacked and it's really starting to annoy most of their paying customers as far as I can tell. But in reality, most American have a very short attention span anyways and it will probably just all blow over with very little resolve.

Didn't realize it got locked down. Thought it had just died a natural death. But yeah, this one will be the same people, saying the same things, and getting angry at the same people, saying the same things. TSL is nothing if not predictable.

Oh, I'm quite sure the law of unintended consequences will raise its head before this is over. But I find nothing malicious about the intent.

Until then, ignore it or vote with your dollars and remote.

And Cam gets fined for having "Iron Head" on his eye black. I wonder if anyone on the "approved" list has a criminal record?

We are going to need a ****s and giggles titled forum thread link because this is not going away. Half if not more so of this board is going to end up in **** because the sports world has embraced the complete **** show of social injustice from a one way road approach. Pretty hard to not have political topics when this **** is totally political. I guess we'll see if someone wants to tape, sticker, or print cannon's name to their helmet where it goes... My guess is out of the window if not to some point where that act completely divides a locker room. I'm a fair guy, the media is not. These movements are not. The narrative is not. These players are on a slippery slope just like the rest of us. Some could cherry pick MANY current events and the Internet will draw and quarter them. Many agree with the low hanging fruit narrative because it's just that obvious and it is that driven and is overtly covered. Other folk's silenced truths is where **** gets wonkey??? Because it's hard and the climate ain't right for it?

I feel bad for the folks genuinely affected by issues just to see them hijacked. I feel bad for the folks whom's stories are disavowed due to rhetoric, spin, etc...basically color. Sad days currently but we rue them wanted or not.

But, could this be an alternate revenue stream for the NFL, by allowing fans to put names on player helmets?

Like you do with Bricks around stadiums.

The NFL said they were looking for ways to generate extra revenue, because of the missing fans.

Now the NFL is going to politicize the end zones, whats next?

Goodell reaffirmed the league's efforts to move forward with social justice initiatives from the outset of the season, touching on the previously announced on-field signage. End zone borders will feature stencils with "It Takes All of Us" and "End Racism" on opposite ends of the field. It's part of the NFL's Inspire Change program.

    K, guess I'll bring on the ban-hammer.

The reason there's "not a peep" is that the killer was tracked down and arrested within 24 hours. The system worked the way it was supposed to.

The reason for the protests is that there are way too many cases where clear cases of police brutality are overlooked by the judicial system because, well, they're police. I don't really care if he was anything that you say. It's not the police's job to execute people. If four cops with tazers can't subdue a suspect without putting 7 shots in his back, maybe they should re-examine their career choices.

We can get banned together because I was going to say the same thing. If cops who murdered unarmed citizens were immediately arrested and charged as murderers there wouldn't be a need for all the protests. But we all know that isn't what happens.

Yes....it's about the rules. And we are methodically headed for a dramatic change it rules;)

I'm just glad it's me and the cops that have guns:hehehe:

In the same way we do not want to politicize a public forum we should keep it out of the game as well. People are inundated through media hype they don't want to watch a sport and have to be constantly reminded.

Or..... Maybe he should listen to the police, and not walk block after block ignoring their requests...You can't let people ( especially armed and dangerous criminals with warrants ) ignore you and just keep doing what they want, When you tell them to stop

You really need to put yourself in the position of the police.

When people are high on certain drugs they can become almost superhuman.

And when that individual has refused to cooperate for extended periods of time.

And when he tells the police he is going to his truck to get a gun and he's going to kill them.

Please explain to me what "you" would have done?

No, but I believe in most cases it’s a justified/legal use of force? At least under current law.
