That's the thing, He still really didn't "explode"...His sacks jumped, but the pressures ( which many believe is a more indicative stat ) was still very poor... Basically saying, The pressures were down but, when he did get home...He made the most of it

That might be the silver lining in all this. I believe his performance boost was more a result of a bolstered secondary than his actual improvement or contract-year-hustle.

If that is the case, we should expect just as much, if not more from him this year. The secondary shouldn't regress. It should get better, if only marginally, given the static talent pool.

So I'm looking forward to a slightly better defense all around this year. Slightly better cohesion on the back end and just as good, if not better, up front. Our defense should keep us in almost every game next season...if there is one.

We're not that creative. Our organization is a one-trick pony. We don't catch and release just to keep fishing. We almost always eat what we catch and only get rid of the bones. ;)

It probably had more to do with him being healthy for an entire season.

Hopefully Bush is ready for the bigger role. He'll have to be in better position than he was last year.

Mistake. The cost ramifications are really going to hurt.

Whaaat? Ok dream scenario time....ready? Guess who’s a FA QB next year? Yup Watson! Do not restructure Ben...do not! Let’s see we what happens this year before we commit any more money than we have to already. There may be some magic that can be worked next off season. Dream along with me...:beg:

They also got a second-round pick and gave up a late pick, but yeah, O'Brien screwed that one up big time.

I'm one of the people who has been in favor of this, but of course, it's tough to see the full impact until we know what else the Steelers do. I hope they don't sign him long term. Better to do this for one season and then pay Watt and Fitz.

Dupree had a real OLB coach this season, after not bringing back Porter, they also asked their OLBs to not drop back into coverage much. Dupree is also good against the run, I like the move in tagging him, they can't afford to lose Hargrave and Dupree this year.

Yeah..... when I read this... I could not believe it. Initially thought someone was trolling. I was right.... sort of.

Bill O' Brian is trolling the hope and dreams of Texans fans. Unreal. DeAndre Hopkins for David Johnson and a 2and round pick.... really?!?!

You mean you won't miss knowing exactly where the opposing quarterback was going to throw most of the time on any third down less than 10 yards? :)

We have GOT to re-sign Barron. He was the whole reason our defense got better this year. His superlative play was instrumental in the sack total we put up this year. SIGN HIM BACK!!! :)

Somebody help me out since I don't remember from the bs with Bell. If he signs the tag the Steelers are on the hook for the 15.8 million even if they reach a long term deal before July whatever right?
