    Hey SDOT.

Great post! Too bad we could not have a win to go along with it. It would have been a great way to add to the milestone.

Way to ruin a good topic SDOT. You may want to seek professional help about your continual hatred for Silverback. Why would you even care about what Watt does? After all, he may end up on the Patriots someday and all of your excitement will then be filled with rage.

Debo didn’t end up on the Cheatriots !!! He actively sabotaged his time here in meetings and the locker room and social media and undermined the coaches to force his way out to get to the Cheatriots then rub everyone’s noses in it on Social Media after sigining with them!!!!

    BIG Difference!!!

Well done TJ Watt. I think Gilmore might win DPOY but Watt is probably comfortably second. He is an absolute game wrecker.

This is going to leave the Steelers with a conundrum in the off season. Can you leave a DPOY candidate on their rookie deal earning $2.5m per year? I think they will have to extend him this off season a year earlier than they would have planned to. That’s an issue for another day though.

Gilmore has 6 ints as a corner. Watt has 1/3rd of that. Plus, 6 forced fumbles and 13 sacks. I think Watt has the better stat line. Plus, majority of Gilmore's stats came against the 1 win Bengals. 2 ints and a td.

The talking heads are trying to make a case for Patriots CB Stephon Gilmore over TJ Watt. They are always up their butts!!!!

I have thought about the same thing. In recent years players have become more proactive in how the perceive 'outplaying' the old contract. With little guaranteed money and one hit away from a potential career ending injury you cannot blame them. Not trying to get into the whole right/wrong of contract management, just the reality.

TJ (and Minkah soon) will be in that discussion. The conundrum this year will be how they move forward with Bud. I doubt they can sign him, but if they do..or franchise him and then sing a huge deal..how much is TJ worth? he has seen his brother get paid handsomely, but also have a boat load of injuries. He will want that security (and appreciation), and who could blame him.

I'm sure Traitorson would gladly go on a media tour for his dad, Belicheat to make the case for Gilmore.

I think you could do the same deal with TJ that the Saints did with Michael Thomas where you leave his base salary as it is for next year but extend him and give him his signing bonus which is then spread over the lifetime of the contract. That will keep the cap hit relatively low next year but he will get a big payday at the same time. I’d expect that he will want close to $20m a year, top earners at OLB, Miller earns $19m and Mack earns $23m.

Good Morning Football did a segment this morning on TJ and they highlighted not only the sacks but the other plays he makes to win games. They were saying that he is a good bet to win DPOY.

Not one of Gilmore's interceptions came against a team with a winning record.

Tj Watts stats are insane his first 3 years.

I looked up Lawrence taylors stats, james Harrison stats, and terrel suggs just to name a few. Harrison was a fumble machine, taylor a sack machine(not really fumbles not sure why lol) and suggs like Harrison.

    Watt's first 3 years numbers:

    33 sacks
    13 force fumbles
    3 interceptions
    18 pass defensed

there is no weakness on him. He can rush the passer, defend the pass, stop the run. Also doesn't shrink in big games. Arguably our best player.

HOLY HELL HIS BROTHER JJ from 2012-2016

    69 sacks
    15 force fumbles
    41 pass defended
    1 pick

as good as TJ has been I think JJ watt could've been the best of all time if he wasn't so hurt. Even better than AAron donald

I wonder how this being the last year of the CBA will affect strategies going forward. I know the players want more guarantees and higher % of certain revenues, owners want more games. Will some players have a wait and see, while others take the security now? Will be an interesting off season.

As @SteelCity_NB@SteelCity_NB and I stated weeks ago, assuming he continues his level of production, he will have either equaled or surpassed Khalil Mack's first three years. Coincidentally enough, I thought T.J. Watts ceiling was that he could be Khalil Mack but I initially thought it would take some time even with his brother's assistance.

I DID NOT foresee this!!
