As I wrote to someone before you are going to be a disappointed fan the large majority of the time. Sometimes for team to grow and become better it's a process. Losing can be a part of that process. Even in the losses there can be improvements or gains. Even if the season isn't going our way I look forward to watching how Mason will grow as a player. Can he be the future of the team? I enjoy the competitive nature of the games.

In any event, I think if I had to live with the level of disappointment that you've had to live with I'd stop watching.

You're right, I get very disappointed over losses more so than I am elated during victories. I used to be more upset back before the game became overly watered down. Now I just take it with a grain of salt.

You like the process and competitive nature along with over all participation. Perhaps, watching a spelling bee would be a nice way for you to pass your time.

The Steelers have better talent across the 53 man roster than the phins,
If we hold control TOP and do not turn ball over I like our chances.

Then why do so many coaches get fired each and every year?

I'd hate to see this place if the team missed the playoffs regularly or worse, a .500 team.

This team generally gives me more happy Sundays than bad, thats a plus in my book and also means they usually get to the playoffs, another plus.

Getting to the SB is the ultimate goal but I sometimes wonder if fans have any concept of how hard that is to do.

I'll ***** and moan like anyone else after a loss but helps to have perspective.

This can be said of them for A lot of teams though, and they have had better talent than quite a few for years,,Its coaching and putting the talent in the right positions to succeed ..Something this coaching staff lacks ..Some coaches take less talented players and insert them in and they shine..

there are a number of reasons why head coaches are fired every year. The number one reason IMO is because organizations are ran poorly.

I always thought it was because they lost too many games or under achieved.

I said there were a number of reasons why coaches get fired. Not winning enough would be on the list.

    This.

The issue is not the matter of fans understanding how difficult it is to get to the big dance. Far more simplistic than that. The issue with some fans is that they do not care about the difficulty to begin with.

Well, I believe most would say winning games would be their number one reason. Vince Lombardi once said, :winning isn't everything, its the only thing". I agree with him.

I was once told to enjoy sports pick a city to root against. The majority of the time that city will not win a Championship. In my lifetime I have 14 Championships under my belt. 6 SB's, 5 Stanley Cups and 3 World Series. I'm not complaining about it but I've seen many more seasons without a Championship.

Now Philadelphia has been a gold mine to root against. They don't win a lot of Championships. I would imagine Boston has to suck living there and not being a fan.

Coaches cannot win games without the proper support and decision making from organizations. There's a lot that goes into building a consistent winner.

The Steelers won plenty. People still complain about the Steelers organization. Im all for having rational and responsible discussions. People have little understanding and patience. They want win it now, win it always, win, win, win, or you should be fired.

I don't agree with the belief that winning is the only thing.

Sure it's extremely difficult to achieve and when it seems that you have nearly every piece of the puzzle in place an idiot player throws a guarantee out there and another dumbass goes Facebook live in the locker room. I, as a fan care tremendously about this team in nearly every way possible but immature stunts like these are what makes my fandom drop slightly year after year. Until Tomlin is gone, I don't see us making another Superbowl appearance and that in of itself is difficult to care for.

This organization put this team in a great position to win another SB but failed miserably with the talent that we had. MT underachieved and should have been fired several years ago. I'm not all about win, win, win, win, win but when you are given the keys to a ferrari and turn it into a beetle it is time to put it in the garage for good.

I believe people can say, feel, and express what they want about their team without being told they have little understanding or patience which you just did by making that accusation. This sport is a business and makes money off of wins, not just showing up and doing average. This is not high school football. It appears neither is going to change the others mind so lets just agree to disagree. Lets get after Miami.

Easier to fire the coach than to replace all the players.

people can say what they want and feel. Just like I can express my opionion. Often time people go overboard.

Sports make money because people are interested. Teams that lose for years continue to make money.

MT is part of the organization.
    so only MT underachieved?

What about the players? The players are the individuals mostly responsible for wins or losses.

What matters most is how the players perform on game days.

That's what typically happens with poorly run organizations. It's difficult to build a consistent winner.

Mediocrity? The Steelers have fallen short of being great, but it has hardly been a run of mediocrity.

I have to wonder why Miami traded Fitz? You're in pure rebuild mode, yeah?. You have a potential superstar 1st round Safety who has 1 of experience. Shouldn't he have been a cornerstone of your rebuild moving forward?

They couldn't have imagined they might get a top 5 pick from the Steelers. Even if you did, you had Fitz for 4 more years and you already KNEW he wasn't a bum.

    I don't get that one.
