Remember the days when playing the Steelers inspired fear in the hearts of opposing teams and their fanbases? When was the last time that happened? I'm thinking sometime circa 2009?

These days teams see Pit on the schedule and start :lolol: :lolol: :lolol: over the free win :rawk:

Remember when the Steelers used to use the excuse when they played down to the opponent? It was essentially the other team was in such awe that they were playing the Steelers that they upped their game. It was pathetic and an example of how this franchise lives in the past way too much.

Honestly I don’t mind as a fan as long as it leads the changes necessary to try and find our way back to the top. Sometimes you have to rebuild/reload by acquiring higher level talent. Those game changers are usually found towards the top of the draft. It’s quite obvious this current coaching regime needs superior talent to succeed.
I don’t mind suffering through a couple bad seasons if it leads to more success in the long run. I’m talking about being a serious contender and not a pretender. I don’t think the coaching we have in place is capable of getting us to the next level. I think we need a change and a couple bad seasons could facilitate that. I’m not a “never had a losing record “ guy. I have high expectations for my sports teams....

Tomlin is right there with the 2nd tier coaches. Stramm, Shula, Madden, Landry, Parcells, Cowher, others. I think he is stale for our team (13years?) though. He deserves a little credit.

I remember reading and hearing on talk radio that teams that played us use to have to recover a couple weeks after. With that said the NFL has changed and that style of defense is not allowed. You can't look sideways at a QB now a days and don't make a bang bang hit on a WR cause you will get flagged as hitting a defenseless receiver. You can't blame the Steelers you have to blame the NFL.....now flag league!!!!!!

    2. Vince Lombardi
    3. Paul Brown
    4. Bill Walsh
    5. Don Shula
    6. Tom Landry
    7. Bill Parcells

I have to say 2nd tier because they won big & kinda coasted for years afterwards.

    My top tier would be
    Lombardi, Noll, Walsh, Gibbs, Belicheat.
These guys are better than Shula or Landry imo.

Putting Noll #2 and Belicheck at 5? Just a bit biased lol. Or do you mean not necessarily in that order?

We won’t see it again. The league doesn’t allow that trademark Steelers style that we all loved.

This Bleacher Report list is an opinion just like mine. The only difference is Bleacher Report's opinion are written to promote controversy and click-baiting. If the list doesn't include Halas as a top 3 and Curly Lambeau in the top 10, the list can be questioned, in my opinion.

Here is the mytake list of top 10 coaches:

    1. George Halas
    2. Vince Lombardi
    3. Bill Belichick
    4. Chuck Noll
    5. Curly Lambeau
    6. Paul Brown
    7. Bill Walsh
    8. Don Shula
    9. Tom Landry
    10. Joe Gibbs
