    yep been reading up on him in camp. Making the most of his opportunities and splash plays. Here is to hoping we have a handful of good safeties. Edmunds doing really well also

    Sean Davis' injury has been a great opportunity and it seems Kelly is taking advantage of that. Probably the one I'm most interested to see in preseason.

    From what I’ve read, he started really well but has been shown up a few times on things like following cuts by receivers.

    But if we find a decent FS out of the 68 we’ve signed over the last 3 years, I’ll be ecstatic.

    I hope he continues to do well and from what he have heard he will most likely make the 53. I fully expect Edmunds and Davis to start week one but you can never have too many capable DB’s.

    I have been hearing good things about Cam Sutton in camp, they were saying Hilton could have some competition for slot CB.

    I only saw one practice so it probably means little but Sutton was terrific the day I saw him. He had the biggest hit of the afternoon, had great coverage and made an unbelievable special teams play to stretch out while running full speed to kill a punt inside the one.

    If I remember correctly, Matakevich knew he wasn't going to get there fast enough, so he picked up Sutton and threw him at the ball to make the play. So to answer your question, yes, it was Matakevich who made the play.

    Seriously though. We don't have much depth there and they have seemed high on him. My concern is his speed. 4.66 free safety. We have lbers faster. :cool:

    You're right that is exactly what happened. What made the play even more amazing is that Dirty Red was the one that punted the ball.

    Yeah, his speed is a big concern. I don't see him as more than a potential depth guy but we can hope he's more.
