Wilson wont go to the hall of fame? Stop talking football. Lynch 10000 yards, sb ring,(should be 2), one if the best postseason backs ever, led NFL in TDs 2x. Not first ballot but he will eventually get in.

Show me someone with a dpoy, won the sb the same year he won dpoy, made one of the greatest plays in sb history, 5 pro bowl, 4x all pro, etc.. who's not in? Its not all about long term stats. That's why guys like terrell Davis or gale sayers got in .they looked at there prime and said his peak was hall of fame level. Kenny easley is in with like 5 pro bowls and no rings. Harrison will take a long time to get in but he will.

Because Zeke, Gurley, and saquon were considered some of the best prospects at the position to ever come out. Some were even calling saquon the best with the way he killed the combine. All the teams left can also throw it and win in shootouts if needed. That wasnt the case years ago. It's why chicago is home. You cant win anymore like that great as there defense was.

Bens numbers are better, about 4,000 more yards and 2 more TD's over the same span that Wilson has been in the league.

Always felt Wilson was a little overrated. A good QB that can make plays when needed.

Wilson isn't asked to throw it as much. Their completion percentage is about the same, but Wilson throws more TD's and far less INT's per throw. Basically all his numbers are better except for completion percentage, which is about the same. He also has the rushing numbers. He's also done it with far less over the years.

My opinion only of course, but if you think Wilson is overrated, you either haven't watched him play much or you are biased for whatever reason. The dude is an absolute stud and he will be in the HOF in time.

Ben actually has fewer attempts over the same span of Wilsons career.

No bias. Why would I have bias against Wilson? Seems like a good guy.

I just don't see how anyone can watch him play and think he's overrated. That's all

This highlights the overall theme of these playoffs. Keyword is "if". Kansas City did not win because of Pat Mahomes. They won because of Damiem Williams. Los Angeles had two 100 yard rushers. Jared Goff's proverbial golden arm did not win them that matchup. More than likely, we will see a repeat of yesterday in terms of the running game.

Better yet, what we will be seeing from here on out is the same formula that has won teams Super Bowls over the past decade. Have a top 10 rushing attack or an offensive line that is in the top 10 for running the football. The more possessions that not only take time away from the opposition but also yield points, the higher a team's chances of winning the game.

I've seen Hopkins win games with Watson the same way AB does. Ben & AB are my favorite & better at it imo also.

I'm not going to post a bunch of stats, I already did this for this season. Take a look at the games that we have won. Won because of running the football. Losses, running the football was minimal. Very simple. They need to commit to the run more and improve the defense. Ben is at his best with a solid running game. If that's 80's football I like it. And it works.

While you can say that Mahomes or Goff didn't necessarily win the game with their arms. You can't downplay all the other factors that go into being successful running the ball. There are so many other factors such as formations, motions, personnel and decision making. While you can look at their stats and not come away overly impressed( Mahomes did make some sick throws) you can't just skip over everything else that the QB brings to the table. It's not like KC was lining up and just running it. The threat of what Mahomes can do with all the other weapons he has, is a major factor in running successfully. KC keep teams off balance with all the window dressing every play. The defense can't stop everything. It's up to the O to take advantage of what the D is giving them.

Supposedly, the Colts are interested in Brown. They just went through a playoff game where it seemed to me their receivers had a hard time getting open.

Absolutely, but that's not new. If you want to compete for a SB, you need a top QB. That's been the case in the NFL for a very long time now. Every now and then there's a one off, but typically it's only the teams with a top QB that get to the dance. That has nothing to do with 80's football. It's just the way the game has evolved. The reality is though that the running game is as important as ever. So is defence. Dallas couldn't run the ball and they couldn't stop the run. That sunk them. LA wasn't able to get much going in the air, but they were able to consistently run for 1st downs.

The game is always evolving. That's the same for every sport, but it's not just a passing league, far from it. Defence and a strong running game are huge factors in having a successful playoff run. It may not be required every game (such as the LA vs KC game), but if you need to and can't run the ball, or if you can't stop the run, you probably won't win.

Agree but much of the running success these days has more to do with being able to spread defenses out and having enough weapons that need to be accounted for. I didn't watch the Rams/Cowboys but Dallas doesn't have a abundance of weapons where you really have to pick your poison. I'm guessing LA played to slow down the run and Dallas doesn't have enough to make them pay. KC runs a ton of RPO and the threat of Mahomes ridiculous arm and his array of weapons to choose from opens up the run and not vice versa.
Most of our running success comes from the same principle....
