Get rid of Jerry Oslavsky the same. Find someone competent. Remove Shazier and we have seen what he can do. Even when he had Shazier there was still issues.

His biggest is his inability to teach Ryan how to properly tackle. Had he done that, a world in which Ryan Shazier is still playing would be the reality in which we live in.

My friend have you ever played competitive football? Players such as Shazier
probably have been tackling like he has since he was in the midget football program down
in Miami. These guys know what they sign up for. Jerry O was an excellent Pitt Panther
and excellent Steeler player for years. He knows how to play and teach football. Yes he will
probably get fired along with others. Your coach T isn't going down, he will have plenty of scape goats
    to blame.

Okay... quite a bit to sort out here:

    1. Just because someone has been doing something for a long time does not mean they cannot improve. Shazier's reckless abandon could have been corraled early on had that been a point of emphasis.
    2. Congratulations if Jerry did play at Pitt and for the Steelers. Those days are long gone now. This NFL is not the NFL in which Pitt Football was a thing.
    3. Highlight here. "My Tomlin"? How about "The Team I Love" instead. I care only about the Pittsburgh Steelers and only the organization itself. Coaches like Tomlin, while part of the organization, do not make them infallible by any means.

In short?! It should not matter how long someone has been doing anything given the aspect that factors change over time. It should not matter who he played for due to the eras. Most importantly, it does not matter about a coach who either has been or currently is questioned as the proverbial guy who can take the team over the hump. What should matter here is correcting the issues at hand.

    Again..

So apparently, statistically our defense is good? Does that save Butler his job? Why does it feel like our defense is not good?

On the other hand why can’t we win games even with a statistically good defense?

@AskQuestionsLater@AskQuestionsLater Jerry O didn’t miss all those tackles Shazier missed last year either, and you can’t blame that injury on him. Do you actually think the guy in your avatar picture would have changed the way he played even if Jerry O pleaded with him to change his ways?

Agreed. It is interesting because of anyone who has motivation to put on a show to display what he's got it's Bud Dupree. It is do or die time right now for him. Actually this past year was huge for him.

He looks the part of a premier pass rusher which is why he was selected in the 1st round. Just something isn't there whether that be his motor, hand skills, or lack of ability to flip hips and turn the corner on the edge pass rush.

One thing i'm seeing in the importance of successful pass rushers is long arms. Not sure how he stands in that department. He's the 9 million dollar question currently.

Who's making the changes? I sure as hell have no faith in Art.

His arms measured 32 5/8”, which are short for a 6’5” pass rusher.

That said, there have been successful edge rushers with shorter than average arms. His issues seem mental to me. I don’t get the impression that anything he learns “sticks.”
