How much the RB plays is determined by the RB coach and the OC too, not just the HC .

Yeah the idea that fire everyone = better performance is asinine. It's a mentality held by many teams and fans around the NFL. How good did the Raiders do this year? << Rhetorical question..

Tomlin isn't as bad as everyone is making him out to be, and if people actually broke down games they would find this out.

But the vast majority of people are simple.. We lose = fire the guy.

All of this is in vain actually as the Rooneys will do as they are going to do irregardless of anyone's opinion. I personally do not have Tomlin on the hot seat getting fired this year.

So, you fine with another 10 years without getting to the Super Bowl. Interesting. I don't get pissed off about sports or things I don't have any control over. Too many other things in life do that already. I just hate seeing a very talented team under performing and the window for success with this teams talent nearly over.

I used to get worked up pretty bad over a loss. But those days are over. It just doesn’t matter enough to pour that much energy into anymore. If the win, great. If they lose, oh well.

They have had 3 coaches in forever. If they choose another one i'm sure they would do their due diligence in selecting someone for the long term.

Please elaborate why you like Tomlin so much?

Who gives 2 $hits about those other teams? Spoiled? Yea, this current coach and staff is spoiling another year with an aging franchise QB. Can't leave Colbert out either in drafting certain defensive players. Spoiled please. Squandering talent is more like it.

New guy? Tomlin has been the coach for 11 years.

Please elaborate why you like Tomlin so much?

The loss of Shazier set this team back. I’m sure there are some who will blame that on Tomlin.

Minus the Patriots and a few bottom dwellers, there is an ebb and flow to teams. In the 90’s Steelers went to several championship games, then had a bad spell. From 2004-2011 the Steelers we awesome minus some super bowl hangovers. Then they had a down turn. You can blame Tomlin because the defense got old and slow. But Tomlin was on his way to rebuilding a contender and then Shazier went down.

50 to the defense is like 7 on offense. With 50 on the field this year, no way defense gives up so many 4th Quarter leads.

But yeah, firing the HC will solve that problem.

And how many of those coaches that failed had a talented team, and failed, with the talent this team has I imagine those failing coaches wouldnt fail at all.....

I don't "like Tomlin so much" but, having lived most of my life in San Diego, I've seen first hand how well the "revolving door" of coaches works.
Didn't they do their due diligence before hiring Tomlin?
I'm on board with getting rid of Tomlin at some point but, to dump him just to dump him, without a GOOD replacement, just seems like a Charger or Browns thing to do.
Lots of people claim that the "window is closing" as if the Steelers will never have another talented player.

Unlimited years as long as the team isn’t a bunch of ass clowns.

Field a competitive team most years and I’m happy. Tomlin and/or Ben has done that arguably every year, which is impressive.

Bonus: once Ben retires it won’t be as difficult to compete without a HOF QB due to recent rule changes making it easier for offenses to operate. Get a competent guy with a decent OL, invest in the defense and you’re in the hunt every year.

Sorry to disagree but you just can't plug and play a QB. We saw what happened already with the pre season wonder. Franchise QB's don't grow on trees. Hopefully Rudolph makes the jump to #2 this off season.

Compete? I guess you are fine with that. Us spoiled Steeler Fans are not :lolol:

Invest in the defense? Well I do agree to do this with free agents. Especially corners. The Steeler way is to build the team through the draft. Well on the defensive side this has been sub par. Add coaching and there you have it, a sub par defense sans a few standouts.

This team has been under coached for years and had and have some quality talent.

Win and loss percentages aside I really do think it's ok for change. They let haley go for really no reason that I could see. Did it improve this team by firing Haley. Nope in fact it made their win/loss record worse . sometimes a change is good for no other reason then to see what someone else could do with the massive talent that this team has. Change for change sake is good. It is time to make changes and live with the consequences/outcome.

It really get's tiring to hear how good Tomlin is. But nobody says why he is good except for regular season overall record.

Most of us can give you 7 to 10 reasons why he is a bad coach.

How many people think with MT as head coach he will get you to the super bowl? His message is getting old and it's time for a change.

I didn't say I wanted Rex as a HC but I was just making a point that he did go to 2 championship games with Mark Sanchez who is awful. He can coach a defens certainly better than Butler

Now some people are totally reaching. Still the best is that none of us fans can coach as good as Tomlin so we shouldn't complain. Lol.....

People make such a big deal about how the Steelers don't fire head coaches. Yet they've fired assistant coaches the same as other franchises. Is that really all that different?

Tomlin is likley out by 2020 if another Lombardi or appearance at worst does not happen. Of the people leaving this season currently, Keith Butler and Joey Porter are tops on the list. For that matter, take Jerry Olsavsky with them.

Hock their brains, pack their bags and head out.

Super Bowls??! At this point I would just settle for beating teams that you should beat...not tie, not lose to after giving up a 16 point lead and certainly not teams that have racked up a whopping 2 wins before playing us. Let’s start small at this point and work our way back up to the SB. You are not going to any SBs if you can’t even beat these types of teams.

That was the craziest post I've ever read. First time in my life I've heard someone say It's a good thing to have starting players get hurt by being overused

The buck stops with the head coach. He makes the final call.

Besides, we've already replaced the OC multiple times

Conner getting injured had nothing to do with being run into the ground, fans were complaining that the team wasn't running the ball enough during that 3 game losing streak.

Is just scary that the gut was a freaking dB coach and can't draft one.

The team did improve in the redzone, their record is worse but Boswell cost them like 3 games. Show me some massive talent on defense .

You can predict the future now? You don't know what the team will accomplish in the near future.

Firing Haley was the right move but Butler should have followed him out the door.

If the Steelers have another clunker against the Bengals and lose, that could be enough for the Rooneys to move on from Tomlin. That would be the icing on the cake for this season. Especially if the Browines upset the Ravens.
