What was yours? Just that one play when you knew that it didn't matter how many games were left to play or what the possibilities still were, that you knew in your gut the Pittsburgh Steelers were not going deep in the playoffs.

For me this year, it was Grimble's fumble through the end zone in Denver. I knew we were done at that moment.

Losing the 16 point lead to the Chargers (the specific play was David taking out Haden on what should have been a near-clinching interception). The Denver game didn’t bother me at all. Nobody wins every game, and we were due after 6 straight wins. The thing is, a really good team uses that loss as fuel to do whatever it takes to get back on the winning track. We instead lost 2 more to get into must-win territory.

When the Browns came back to tie us I said it's going to be one of those years.

I am a tad bit proud of how the Steelers made a great effort to right the ship and if I'm being honest I think the Browns will give the Ravens a game.

When I first saw the schedule. Just knowing we have the same ole same ole and haven't upgraded on the D.
I'm glad we done better than I thought we would do (6-10).
    Same $hit different year.

Right after the last preseason game. Predicted 8-8 around that time and that is just about what and who we are.

My season ended at the beginning of the season, with Tomlin and Ben still here, and It'll end the same way next season.

Yeah definitely another 'it's not our year' moment. I've never known a season where every fumble it seemed went against us either, the ones where it bounces round every where we never fell on any of them. The rot began in Denver and we never got out of it, the moment we got to the #2 seed it seemed we threw everything away. How would we react to being in a prime position, the div nearly sewn up, the #2 seed in our hands? - Easy, we would fumble it all away as usual. That Grimble fumble just fore-shadowed what was to come, I just knew it.

I think the Raiders game. But, then I had renewed hope after beating New England. Biggest difference between last year and this year is Steelers won a majority of the close last second games (2017). This year they didn’t.
If you count them up in Steelers losses , they lost by a combined 33 points and one was a 12 point lost to ravens. So in loses it was 5.5 average, which goes to show you, we were in a majority of football games, just can’t finish. 4th quarter was killer this year. Then throw in a tie to the Browns. If Steelers beat the Browns and beat a bad raiders team, it wouldn’t have mattered. Heck a win this week would get you in if we just one of those two.

Starting the season with a TIE to the Browns..... with a missed Boswell kick.... pretty much ended it for me.

Then to see our Kryptonite on the schedule.... in the Oakland Raiders..... I just knew it was going to be one of those years. I still can't fathom how we can be competitive with teams like the Pats, Saints, Chargers..... yet lose to the Raiders, Broncos, and tie the Browns..... it really blows my mind.

Call me dramatic but when we tied the Browns. We completely out-played them and put up like 150+ more yards and still tied. I just figured we'd end up having many games like that... and we have. This year's team is so frustrating because they're absolutely good enough to make a big-time run and go all the way, even with their discipline issues. We all know Tomlin won't be fired, but he has to answer for his poor coaching this year... Butler, he has to be gone.

Just saw you replied this -- I completely agree. The thing is, we beat the Pats, SHOULD have had the Chargers beaten (if not for the refs' bad calls) and completely blew the Saints' game. I saw a beat writer say the Steelers showed the world they're really really good yet equally one of the dumbest teams in football. It's true.

At least we can watch the Ravens get destroyed in the first or second round. lol

The talent is there, the coaching is not, we'd be 11-5 at least with Pete Carroll.

We'd win the SB with Pete Carroll. Tomlin isn't a bad coach, even though many want to say he is. He just goes his own way and with how the NFL is changing, it's hurting us. He has to adapt. Bad decision making by Tomlin has cost us at least two games this year... most notably, his poor challenges which lose timeouts and extra time for Ben.

Yeah, everything about MT screams 'I am stuck in one gear'. On top of that the whole organization is stuck in 'The Steeler way' just like Al Davis got stuck in 'The Raider way'. I think MT is a bad coach for the obvious reasons, like game management - but mostly because he continually gets less from the team than the sum of its parts.

When we gave up a 14 point lead to the Browns and started the year with a tie. I saw an undisciplined team from the start, but like our great coach just said in yet another pithy meaningless comment...” we made our bed, now we lay in it.” Yes YOU did Mr. Genius.

I predicted 9-7...and I'll be almost right if it wasn't for the tie. Steeler beat Bengals, but Ravens win the North. I agree with those who say tie vs Browns was sign that season was going to be sub par. What a waste.

He is the absolute master of post game BS. It's a damn shame this clown got to piggy-back his way to a ring and another SB appearance.

I’m still holding faith. If we can get in, we can win.

I’m not saying will win, but can win.

I don’t know why people think they’re not?!

They beat them last time! Also, just because the Ravens are getting by without a real passing game, doesn’t mean that will continue!
