I was too lazy to hook up with an old and tired Bryant thread but just announced he's done in NFL for again violating the substance rules either from test results or skipping tests - they didn't specify. Even sadder that the Raiders beat the Steelers without Bryant dressed being on IR. Actually a sad story IMO - all that talent and no self control or desire to follow the rules.

No self control. All these guys making tons of money. All they have to do is wait until they retire (could be as early as their late 20s) then they can get "Stoned to the beJesus belt" every day if they want.

He's already had the 1yr suspension, so I guess he's in the Josh Gordon indefinite suspension territory now.

I'd think this is almost certainly the end of his playing career.

Can't think of too many landing spots worse than Oakland for someone with substance abuse problems. He also learned right quick that playing for Tomlin is much better than playing for Chuckie.

Just as I suspected. We got what we could for him. He will be
out smoking dope somewhere in or around Greenville hanging out
with all the rest of his successful friends.

I was surprised to see that Bryant is only 8 months younger than Josh Gordon. It seemed like Gordon had been around forever, perpetually in/out of drug suspension. If Bryant sits for 2 yrs, it might as well be 200.

Depends on the timing - the rulebook states that the cycle "starts over" if they make it past the 2 year mark I believe. But this isn't good. Nor unforseen.

Sad for sure. Unbelievable we were unable to unload him to the Raiders with his baggage.

It's a shame. I think his issues are a little deeper than just wanting to get high though. I hope he gets the help he needs or it could truly become a tragedy.
