After 3 crushing defeats and the hated Patriots then the Saints back to back it’s looking bleak. I know we can still win the division, but the Ravens have an easier schedule then us.

I think we’ll be lucky to win 1 more game before the season is over. I believe Baltimore will win at least one more, most likely two games, to take the division. The Ravens have Tampa and Cleveland as 2 of their 3 last games. I can see them winning both of those games.

I’d love to say I see us winning 2 of 3, but we just lost to the worst team in football. Heck one of worst teams I’ve seen in a while. I don’t even think they are trying that hard to win, because they want a high draft pick.

Also it’s the defense letting us down AGAIN. Oakland scoring a TD at the end of the game to go ahead. Then the Ben drama with him on the side lines then coming back in. He seems to have some sort of drama every week. Never mind Boswell missing 2 more kicks. He needs to go I don’t care what he’s done in the past, he sucks now. So who thinks this once promising season is over?

Who knows. We could pull an MT and actually play UP to a couple of good teams. It's not likely. The D is always going to be suspect unless we can routinely get out front early and put 40+ on the board.

But I'm a fan and an optimist so anything is possible .I guess.

We’ll probably beat the Pats and Saints, but then lose to the Bengals and fall out of the playoffs when the Ravens and either the Colts or Titans finish 10-6...

I don’t actually think we’ll beat the Pats or the Saints, but if we do, you can bet your house on us finding a way to lose to the Bengals.

Lol season is over. Football gods don’t want us winning this year.

Average team= loss by nonstop turnovers

Good team= collapsed after halftime first loss leading halftime by 14 or more in 222 times.

Bad team= loss by defense/special teams and coaching.

3 different teams 3 ways to lose.

This team is just stupid lol not even mad anymore

Whens the last time the Patriots have loss two in a row? If the season is still alive by the skin of its teeth, it won't be after next week.

Brees will carve them up worse than Brady will. Kamara and Ingram will run all over them. Thomas will have about 160 yards receiving, Watson will have 2 TD's.

Maybe they close out the season with a win against the Bengals.

Hope the Packers decision gives the Rooneys the strength to make changes.

Yep, Mr glass half full is now half empty.

Hard to say that with the schedule we have verse the Ravens schedule. Hey who knows we could beat both the Patriots and the Saints, but I seriously doubt it.

This season (@ Jax then @ Det). Granted, it doesn't happen often. The one swving grace is this team plays up to their competition.

There is a reason why I did say in the Gameday Thread that I might as well start those mocks early. No point in delaying the inevitable. This season is over.

As Elvis said, even if Pittsburgh somehow manages to beat both New England and New Orleans, I also see them falling to Cincinnati. The Steelers simply cannot be trusted this year. They have too many unusual variables in games; wins or losses irrelevant at this point.

I say only a Raven screw up gets us in but we would be one and done for sure.

I'm convinced the great run we had with Ben at QB is over. No doubt in my mind we are going to have years of average at best coming up. A return to the 80's is upon us.

We thought Brees would carve up Dallas, we thought the Patriots will carve up Miami. My point is we hardly ever beat the raiders and new england always struggled against Miami just check history. Any giving sunday

Dude, seriously. If you're comparing our D to Dallas, then I have some swamp land down here in FL to sell you. Brees is going to kill this D. Why? Because, even if we plan for him, we'll not make adjustments at the half (they will) - and our D will quit somewhere around the end of the 3rd Q, and Brees will throw 3 TD's in the final 15 mins. All to TE's.

As for Patriots/Miami. It was a miracle that Miami won, don't make it out to be more than it was. See NO synopsis above for how the NE game will turn out for us.

Our defense is no where near Dallas defense. They havent given up 30 points all year and they played new Orleans at home. Not In the Superdome. And the Patriots all year have sucked on the road but they just have our number especially in pittsburgh.

Not really because I am not saying the season over nor did I say we beat NE. I simply stated any given Sunday. I do believe you ask for bill back and he didn't beat NE either.

Buy your own land, cause this tell me you listen to sports reporter and all the the people around you. I do believe people was talking how bad Dallas Def was and how good our was. I saw reporter talking fire Dallas coach, but wait Dallas winning and everything is great. Pittsburgh is losing get McCarthy who won 4 games lol.

    Over, no. By no means.

    Bleak, absolutely.

But until it’s over, it’s not over.

    Incorrect.

I listen to no one to form my opinions - they are based solely on what I see happening each week.

Never heard anyone say how "good our defense was" - where have you heard that, aside from a few individuals here that are in denial? I've been saying all along that this D is atrocious.

Also never said anything about hiring McCarthy. Why would I? He got fired for wasting the prime years of Aaron Rogers, why would anyone want him here just to waste what's left of Ben?

Don't put words in my mouth.

Lot of weird things happened yesterday in the league, but what else is new. It's the NFL. Any given Sunday. Use whatever cliche you want, but that's what makes the league so entertaining. Things change dramatically from week to week.

Denver which had won 3 in a row including W's over the Chargers and Steelers lays a total egg vs the 2 win 49ers.
New England loses on a miracle to Miami after Belichik decides to play for the FG instead of going for the TD with first and goal on the 7 with 1:50 to go. Ran it 3 straight times.
Houston winners of 9 in a row lose to the Colts at home.
    Rams only score 6.
    And the Steelers of course.

My point is that anything can happen and saying the Steelers' season is over is premature. Although, it very well may be.

I won’t say it’s over yet unless they lose to the Pats this weekend because I just don’t see the Steelers winning in New Orleans and 8-7-1 is not gonna be good enough to get in the playoffs as a wildcard or division winner. We’ll see how things play out but the season is on the brink now and as I’ve mentioned in a bunch of other threads if you are 7-2-1 after 10 games and miss the playoffs you should be terminated.

When I watch this Steeler team, I see an AVERAGE football team. Nobody is afraid to play us anymore. We are not the Steelers of 10 years ago. We are looking at a few down years, imho. Most of you are living on the Steelers past success. We "had" a reputation which this team cannot live up to. Time to face it, Ben is getting old and we're gonna need to replace him at some point SOON. We don't have that guy. Our coaching sucks, and our defense is pathetic. You need to start being honest with yourselves. We're a mess right now.
