If it's serious, I think you see them bring Adeniyi up.

    They've been only carrying 3 OLB's.

I hope they give Ola a hat for the week. Going to need everyone rested for the game in Denver. This was a black and blue type of game that's for sure.

Other than signing somebody that's pretty much the only option.

He's not even practicing yet so I don't see him as a likely option. I would think Adams or Huguenin would have a better chance because at least they're getting reps of some sort. I could also see them fixing it in house with a few different options. The thing is if you put Ola on the roster who are you cutting and if it ends up being only temporary you risk losing a player. Now if you ask me would I cut Hunter for a permanent 4th OLB I would. Maybe it's time to see what Thomas can do along with a combination of VW on the outside. Getting Tuitt back healthy will help add to our options.

Likely incumbent then it would be Keion Adams. As much as I want Ola to play, there really has been no word as of late if he even has been practicing. It is possible that Keion has and should be the next man up.

Besides, regarding Adams himself, I do not see Pittsburgh resigning Chickillo next offseason anyways. It is best to see what you have in Keion now than later. He will need these reps anyhow.

Signing someone for depth would not be ideal. That defeats the purpose of developing your young players. Nevermind that, Pittsburgh might likely opt to either obtain a quality pass rusher in Free Agency next season or through the draft. Saving that money is essential to ensure either of those plans materialize.

Shouldn’t we have some spending cash next season

    Yes.

However, it is best to conserve as much of that as we can. Keep in mind that, due to the likes of Khalil Mack and Aaron Donald, the price for even a quality pass rusher is going to be inflated. How much so remains to be seen.

I thought Ola made the 53 and was IR'd do they have to cut anyone?

Even then, no need to rush him out yet. Need to see what Keion is capable of first.

I agree. There's a reason they are keeping Adams around

He was good at recovering the fumbles Ola caused in preseason maybe it's what Watt needs to recover his.

He is on IR but is eligible to return like Eli Rogers. He is not on the 53 so someone would have to be released to make room.

I vote for Big Dan since he lined up over center on the field goal.

He has shown improved play but fewer and fewer snaps as the season progresses. So having depth at OLB has to trump back up nose tackle

They were joking on the radio broadcast that he lined up on the guard, but he’s so big that he also covered the center.

I think that's what happened in all seriousness. From the glances at the screenshot he wasn't lined up over the Long-snapper His hat was over the Guard and he was shoulder to shoulder with his lineman.

Also, he was held on the play...

then it was deleted later after Tomlin said "we'll see" or something like that in response to a question about him practicing. So who knows, guess we'll know tomorrow. I hope he practices though, why keep him on the shelf.
