Is a very good player...I have been watching him closely the last couple weeks, and Ben hasn't been sniffed from his side...

What is Gilberts contract status...He seems to be breaking down quite frequently anymore...

With Gilberts past PED, injury issues, contract and age...Would anyone think we would move on from Gilbert?

Last couple years it was Hubbard who always filled in for Gilbert, and he got paid...

Or is that Munchak an absolute genius, and can make ANYBODY good

It wouldn't surprise me if they move on. Don't forget about Chuks Okfafor at tackle. Everything I read about that guy it that he is the real deal at LT.

I think Feiler is going to compete with Finney to be Foster's replacement next season.

Starting unit AND backups are studs! If we could only pick DB's like that, or is there more..........................................

It took a few years of high draft picks for the OL to get this good. We used 1st round picks on Pouncey and Decastro and Gilbert was a 2nd round pick.

They missed on OT Mike Adams but they got very lucky with their undrafted picks in Alejandro Villanueva and the OL backups.

I think Munchak deserves some credit as far as coaching but really it has to do with picking the right guys.

Decastro and pouncey solidify this line. They all need each other though

Well somebody has to get credit for finding the right guys...I assume Tomlin and Colbert has the final say but is Munnie doing the scouting and recommendations?

I really like your screen name Bob. It depicts a subtle yet mysterious rugged individualism. Right up there with the Dos Equis guy. Well chosen. :thumbs up:

Feiler is definitely the real deal, and yes, of course our o-line coach has a lot to do with his continuing development.... the only reason he went undrafted was his small school status

According to Tunch and Wolf, Feiler is the strongest guy on the team in weight room since Silverback left...

LOL. Being from "PIT" though that would be chipped chopped ham Sir. For some reason "Bob In Canada" is so much more intriguing and remote than "Clive from Pit". Heck, even the Mojave Desert is geographically larger than Pittsburgh. See Clive, size does matter sometimes. ;)

Not sure how long he is signed for, but I think the Rooneys will honor his contract & then move on.

I know there was concern by a few here but I think he has shown he can play. So nice to have backups that can step right in and play good.

It's often been said that if an o-lineman is doing his job well, you won't even notice he's on the field. I don't even know Matt's number, lol.

Let me put it another way, if there's at least one other Bob in all of the beautiful nation of Canada, then that makes you at least slightly mysterious. Like, how would we know which is which? Welcome aboard Bob, enjoy your stay and don't mind that Pittsburgh fan out in the middle of the California Mojave Desert. ;)

Finney is more than likely to be Ramon's heir apparent. Whether or not Pittsburgh moves on from Marcus Gilbert is something to monitor for sure.
