Stephen A isn't a true down hearted Steeler fan there's a winning culture in pittsburgh and we're not living up to that tradition the defense is HEARTLESS and coached terribly

As much as I hate to agree with you I must he's had 12yrs to draft a defense & what do we have the worst secondary in the league, no pass rush and a defense that's HEARTLESS

Here is the sad statement despite any preparation they made during the week when coming up with a game plan vs the Chiefs with the sheer weight of the experience on the Steelers coaching sideline, there should not have been any surprises in the game. Nothing KC did was groundbreaking, it certainly wasn't so astounding as to stun guys who have played football for years. Some body had to have some sort of idea on how to attack that spread formation. What in the heck were they doing.

I have a theory about why Tomlin has not been fired but I never say it, or I at least sugar coat it, because I know I'll be labeled a racist. And no, it is not because he is black. It is very frustrating.

Did we not hire a new secondary coach to fix this. Confusion and missed assignments terrible tackling a few complete wiffs. Totally unacceptable defensive play, embarrassing. I have been a Steeler fan since the guy on the left was a rookie and today I was wondering who else I could follow if this team falls further. Still a Steeler fan but even that I considered switching is scary.

He is not fired because that's not what the Rooney's do and because despite these glaring gaffes every year he is overall a successful coach. He isn't keeping his job because he's the black guy no one wants to fire because he will play the race card. He would need to do something monumentally stupid to even be considered for being fired.

Moving parts in the secondary have spent little time together. Plus someone gave them a boogeyman speech about Hill and they crapped their collective undies.

The Rooneys are probably used to the team acting mature and professional. We've got our best players acting like children (AB and Bell), heck even our not-so-good players like Dupree, a defense that couldn't defend against my old high school team, an entire roster that overlooks opponents on a frighteningly consistent basis, and a coach they have to know has lost all control of his players. If they are going to sit back despite all of this and do the "Rooney thing" then maybe we need new owners too. Yep, I went there.

It's possible but the track record from consistency is way better than hire and fire teams that scrap draft after draft trying to get guys that fit the new regime only to have that gone two years later.

I agree, but Tomlin has had 12 years. Not only has there been no improvement, things are getting worse on and off the field. Last year's 13-3 could have easily been 9-7 if just a few things had gone differently.

“It’s bad, and it has nothing to do with Le’Veon Bell not being there,” Dungy said. “The defensive side of the ball — missed tackle after missed tackle, blown coverages, guys running wide open, no discipline on defense.

“Mike Tomlin needs to get that fixed.”

Hard to disagree with this. I do believe there will be changes finally if they don't turn this round. Tomlin has been here a long time, just getting a new voice in there is reason enough let alone the things this guy points out, which echos what many here have said. Rooneys aren't stupid, they are loyal and won't throw a coach/player under the bus to the press but they know whats going on, they hear the same things we do, see the same results we do. That rope has to be getting shorter.

Cowher's been away from the game too long. I don't know if I'd want him at this point. And I doubt he ever wants to coach again.

It needs to be said. People need to stop praising them for their arbitrary traditions. So they've had 3 coaches in the last however many years, so what? I'm sorry luck played a part in those hires too and it doesn't really mean anything whether they had 3 coaches or 10 in that span in the grand scheme of things.

I've not been anti-Tomlin, but it's getting hard to defend the lack of control he has over the team. He's said many times in the past that the players are "men" and so he's always had this attitude of giving them some leeway, but the problem is that just because he calls them "men" it doesn't mean that they all act like men. It's clear that a number of players don't respect his position as coach, and that's on him.

When does his seat get warm? I know the players love him since he’s that classic ‘players coach,’ BUT this team needs a culture change. The current regime has become stale and predictable. Even if we had more ‘talent’ on D, teams know how to destroy this tiresome Lebeau scheme. I thought Tomlin had a DEF background, yet we continue to get mauled by great QBs and even lit up by below average QBs.

This is a .500 team at best. If we have a losing season, is that a fireable offense?Would love to be a fly on the wall in ownership meetings.

Personally, I’ve seen enough. FKBI. FMTI. Our window for that elusive 7th is rapidly disappearing...UNLESS either Dobbs or Rudolph is a franchise QB. Perhaps if and when we are eliminated from the playoffs, you preserve Ben from injury and play those guys??

Hoping we can turn it around. Wasn’t NO like 0-3 last year and they went on a run? Alas, I have little faith MT can, will or even knows how to make adjustments.

    Sigh...

Thorn, they ran into a buzz saw and an up and coming talent in Mahomes. I knew it was going to be a shootout. Not making excuses for the defense but the offense couldn't get off the couch until they were down 21? A couple of key stops would have been the cure but the lack of any idea I will agree lies at the feet of Butler. A total defensive meltdown. Total. It's beyond pathetic.

The standard is the standard, (except for MT). I am not in panic mode because luckily our division has the worst HC's in the NFL. Compared to the others in the division, MT does't look too bad. I believe his time has come to leave soon.
