This look like the end of the road. Substance addition has ruined so many careers ...sad

Was he suspended for pot again? All I see is that he's suspended but not the reason why.

Regarding Mack's trade, to me it must have been the best offer they received. Mack is a great passrusher, but the Raiders needed to trade him as they did not have the cap space.

Overall not a bad deal for them, except of course they lost a top tier pass rusher which is a cornerstone of any good defense.

Looking to blame the team for trading him or the location he landed for his downfall makes no sense. It's the person in the mirror. Bryant just doesn't want to be straight period. I was glad the Steelers let him go as they did their due diligence with him. And really they were not going to resign him anyways. So he goes to Jokeland and should have thought Hey, I got a second chance, let me make the best of it! Negative, he hasn't hit bottom yet. And maybe won't.

And Jokeland with Chucky is already imploding. Didn't see that coming ;)

I believe he’s already had the 4game.... this would be for a year.

You know he was previously suspended for a year for this exact same thing before WHILE in Pittsburgh. Sorry but your rationale doesn't make any sense. This guy would have had the same issues here.

Martavis has managed to become a multimillionare by being able to run and catch a football, and at the age of 26 in the presumed prime of his career he's messed that up.

He had one or two good years. The guy was overrated. Can't believe we got a 3rd round out of him. Someone bit the bait.

But he already had the year suspension too. Isn't he in Josh-Gordon-conditional-permanent-suspension territory?

Well.. not so much the Mack trade but the Martavis trade.

I would imagine though that the Mack trade was an indirect form of amending the Martavis trade.

If that were true I would have had a LOT more fun when I went to the game out here (I live next to Oakland) a few years ago! :cray:

I marked it as disagree because I think that's probably his personality. I.e. not the personality you want/need in a professional athlete. IMO if anything is a load of crap, it's MB's attitude.

Yeah exactly, but it seemed like the OP was saying we gave up on Bryant which in return caused him to give up on himself. That’s on Bryant. Not the Steelers.

Mental issues aside it amazes me how many good players leave Pittsburgh and fail miserably elsewhere. How many WR's have done this over the years? Ben is a huge reason why we can't miss on WR's. Remember when Ben was injured even the great AB didn't do much in his absence. Bryant was a one trick pony just like so many other steelers WR's with a lot of unrealized potential. I also recall the same thing happening to RB's once they leave PIttsburgh. This is why LB is making a huge mistake. #1 I doubt he'll get a contract offer better than what we offered. #2 He will never live up to the contract he gets and will eventually get cut or injured.

That's how I read it too. If Bryant gave up on himself, because the Steelers gave up on him, he might take a minute to ponder why. It ain't like he didn't give them cause. Funny thing, the vast majority of problems in each of our lives are caused by the same guy whose picture is on our drivers license.

I thought he already had a 4 game, then a year, and this time it will be for more than a year if not indefinite...

Your overall point definitely has some merit, but to be fair, part of the problem when Roethlisberger missed significant time in 2015 was Tomlin's decision to give Michael Vick three starts. He was terrible.

Then again, it was Bryant who had a big game working with Jones against the Cardinals that year, not Brown.

Bryant's talent is legitimate, but he just doesn't have the discipline on or off the field to fully develop it. The Raiders apparently thought they could harness his skills. The were wrong.

Now allegedly Gruden is all set to re-sign Bryant after getting blown out by Rams last night. No mention of pending suspension or new charges. The beat goes on. Maybe Steelers get to face him later this season in Oakland if he stays out of the dog house until then.
