Any WVU fans out there? If so, feel free to post your expectations and such. Want to see what everyone thinks. I got high hopes for my Mounties this year.

I'm excited for the much needed Big 12 Championship this year. I expect Will Grier to turn into one of the nations best QBs in large thanks to all the weapons around him. I'm relieved Dana finally hired an actual OC and I have a lot of faith in Tony Gibson as DC.

I think they are in a rebuilding year and may only win 7 games if that:

    USA TODAY:
Defensive personnel. Gibson’s scheme stands on its own, but there’s nonetheless no overlooking the Mountaineers’ offseason losses on the defensive side of the ball. The entire starting defensive front is gone; the three primary backups combine to bring one career start into 2017. The linebacker corps is in better shape, minus the loss of Justin Arndt, the starter on the strong side. But the biggest losses are felt in the secondary, which loses four of five starters, highlighted by All-America cornerback Rasul Douglas.

    2. Offensive line in flux. There’s reason to feel positive about the right side of the line, where both starters return, and some optimism about overall tackle play, with two fairly experienced options at the staff’s disposal. But there’s no sugarcoating the holes up front: WVU is going to struggle attempting to replace center Tyler Orlosky, for one. And as a unit, this line must improve its performance in the red zone.

Remember, Dravon Askew Henry tore his ACL in the preseason last year and he was considered our best DB then. Also look for Kyzir White to have a breakout season at Safety. Brenden Ferns also tore his ACL last preseason as a freshman and he was a huge recruit coming out of Ohio; last year before the injury many reports said he was on the verge of playing a big role in the defensive scheme. If we get our left side of the line in shape (which I've heard good things about) I think our 4 headed monster of a backfield (Grier, McCoy, Crawford, Petteway) will have a helluva season. I'm not worried about our WRs because Dana always recruits great WRs and they don't have Howard throwing them the ball anymore.

I don't know, whenever I have high hopes for the Mounties I get heartbroken, especially in basketball, but I just have a good feeling about this season.

Never was a big WVU fan, but those years with Rich Rod coaching, Pat White, Steve Slaton, Darius Reynard and Owen Schmitt were great teams to watch.

Ahh yes, some of my best memories sports wise, (and worst), revolve around Rich Rods Mountaineers. Still, F*** him for leaving like that. '07 loss to that terrible pitt team was one of the most excrutiation things to watch in my whole life. Makes me sick to this day.

I hope Grier and the eers can get over the top in the big 12. Major Harris was a City of PGH kid that took WVU
    to their last Championship run.

Sure as hell looked good yesterday! Great game to be at. Yes, UT is at the bottom of the SEC, but an SEC Defense is an SEC defense.

Grier looks like a legit Heisman candidate. But... Tennessee's defense has been really poor for the past 3 seasons. Jeremy Pruitt needs time to get some defensive talent here in Knoxville. Remember, the Vols only won 4 games last season and exactly ZERO wins in conference. This year they have a completely new coaching staff, scheme, and young guys. Not trying to rain on your parade, but WVU beat a far inferior Vols team who has lost to Kentucky and Vandy in both of the past 2 seasons.

Oh I know, but it is rare to see those kind of stats vs an SEC Defense.

Can't wait until the NCAA/Big 12 tries to screw WVU for the fact that they have one less game. They'll probably try to hurt Grier's Heisman chances as well, but he's still the frontrunner. WVU offered to have the game played in Morgantown and told NC State they would get all profit and 50% of the tickets, they still said no. A shame they are being that petty. Crappy situation, but prayers to everyone that has been and will be effected by Hurricane Florence.

The last four games have been decided by six points or less. WVU has won the last two against them but Kansas State won the previous four games between the two schools since WVU joined the Big 12.

the TD pass to Marcus Simms down the sidelines was an NFL like pass.
