Yeah, I wonder about that as well. We ought to have pretty good blocking given how many freaking people on this team are touted as STs aces (Matakevich, DHB, Berhe, etc).

I hope your right I don't hate DHB but he offers one thing and with a team full of young guys ST should be the last reason we keep a 5-6th WR. I feel with the new kick off rules we will keep either and extra wr-rb-s-cb so a 6th wr is not out of the question right?

Nah I know they do but I guess I’m looking for a small shifty guy who can play there as well . Hopefully Switzer will supply some of that . I like that fit in our O. Like we had with Rogers...

Yes and AB does some as well I like a quick guy in space as well in this offense. I don’t know if Switzer will excell in that role. Rogers did and was becoming a nice safety net for Ben. There seemed to be a chemistry building....

Good find. The guy is only 23, and he lit it up in college. Dallas spent a 4th round pick to get him initially which is pretty high for a slot receiver/return specialist. Looks like we'll find out Thursday.

If active on game day who sits? The 53 is one thing but why keep DHB if he's inactive.

Hunter is the speed, deep threat, tall red zone guy. I think he gets a helmet this year. Ben said he has faith in him.

You could be right but then there is no reason to keep DHB we will only dress 5 like you said

DHB will make the Team he is key on the punt team . He is also the best blocking WR which helps with runs, screens, and swing passes and such .

I like the trade as we were lacking big time on the returns on special teams. Gave up a 5th for a 6th which probably won’t be that much of a difference in actual draft choices being we should be drafting later in the rounds than the Raiders. We traded for Switzer primarily for special teams as he had the 4th best ave per kickoff return in the league at 25 yards. It’s win win as far as I’m concerned as we get a good returner and not putting the best receiver in the league(AB) to risk getting injured on special teams. What ever we get from Switzer in the slot is gravey as he didn’t get much playing time with the cowboys.

Yeah I think Hunter solidified his spot with the deep catch alone not counting his other catch which was decent. I'm pretty sure he is a lock in at this point, which is a good thing as he's the only tall, fast receiver the Steelers really have to stretch the defense.

Not sure where you are getting that info from. Last year DHB had 89 snaps on offense, 44 of them came in weeks 14 & 15(31 & 13) here was his snap counts from weeks 1-13: 1-2-2-7-2-5-5-5-0-4-8-1-0!!!!!! 2 games he got zip, you keep talking about how much he adds to this team but yet I don't see it on the offensive side. IMO he don't warrant a roster spot, not trying to pick a fight with you just pointing out the facts. 1.3 mil is a lot for a guy that don't offer much on offense, jmo. :smiley1:

I am considerably excited about this kid. There's something about the weight in his running (if that makes sense) and the smoothness of his change of direction when returning kicks that, while he may not have burning speed, he looks like a bullet. There's no wasted movement or hesitation in his returns. This could be a ridiculous steal for the price. Count me as a believer that we now have our return man for many years barring injury of course. I'm really high on this trade. Also this may be a two pronged approach to get rid of Rogers. I like Rogers but I think Switzer can make take that slot role with Rogers on the Pup. Unfortunate for Rogers but I see an overall upgrade at Returner and Slot developing here.
