I saw positives on just about every aspect of the game. Only allowing 6 points. The backup linebackers and secondary all stepped up. The backup defensive lines and offensive lines not so much, but still did good enough.

Jaylen Samuels was a highlight. If Ju Ju would have caught that one pass, he would have had over 100 yards today. He's showing #1 capabilities if AB goes down. Okorafor played good at right tackle in pass protection.

The only real downside was that Ben was inconsistent and inaccurate with his passes early, but I'm not all that worried about it. He had a beautiful pass deep to Justin Hunter who had a great catch and also a pretty good game.

Terrell Edmunds and Marcus Allen both had INTs.. which was pretty cool. I'd like to see more of Marcus Allen in the last preseason game.

I think they need to send both Terrell Edmunds and Matt Thomas on the blitz more just for the hell of it.

"yawn" Tennessee is a really bad team. They're so bad, they made all our players look really good. Wish we could play them all 16 times...

TN is in transition, but at least our D played well vs. them, even if you were kidding.

Yep, not worried about Ben. Seems to me he is rusty every year, through at least the 1st quarter of the 1st reg season game. Good thing we are playing the Brownies. Wish we had our easiest game the first game every year.

I did miss that Ju Ju did have two drops with his 6 catches. A little uncharacteristic of him, but it's obviously a concentration issue which I'm not too concerned about. I still think he could be a #1 if AB gets injured, even if Chris Carter et all don't believe so.

After the defender launched into his gut helmet first it probably did effect his concentration, and even though he did get a 15 yard personal foul he should have been ejected...

Or how about that side step on 2 and 7? Or that catch on 1st and 10? Too many plays to choose from. To be more precise, about 60 minutes worth of good, average and poor plays.

My biggest overall take on the game?

Is Sean Davis invisible? Is he doing that well a performance for Quarterbacks to not even go his direction.

I still believe he can be a quality Free Safety. I am just not seeing the results though.

Usually playing the Browns first is a good thing for us. This year I'm not so sure, they do have a good defense this year, Ben is usually rusty in the beginning of the year, Bell is usually rusty in the beginning of the year, our coaching staff is slow to adjust so I believe it's going to be tougher this game then in years past.

It will all come down to big Ben and if he can overcome his rust early, not sail his passes and settles down quickly.

My takeaway? Ben is super slim and looks incredible... could be huge throughout a grueling season.

I liked Edmunds' interception. I liked it for a number of reasons:

    1) He caught the ball (always very important in a good interception). When guys DROP interceptions, I don't like it nearly as much.

    2) He instantly popped up and ran the right way (always very important in a good interception return).

    3) He ran like a man possessed

    4) He switched hands away from where he perceived the pursuit to be coming

    5) When it was clear he was about to be contacted, he wrapped the ball up with both hands.

In general, on defense, I liked the movement to the ball. There was still some pitch-catch stuff especially to Tight Ends against our zone, but I got the impression that guys really cared about their assignments, especially guys trying to make the team....

In addition, credit where credit is due..... I notice we don't seem to be nearly as incompetent when it comes to calling timeouts at the end of a half. I liked seeing us let it run under a minute with still all 3 timeouts. Why leave the opposing team more time than you need to???? If the TD doesn't pan out, field goal at the gun....works just fine for me!
