No recent talks between Bell and Steelers

Cause they don't deserve to be talked about........

 

Quit trying to deflect. Nobody said squat about Jones. The simple fact is Ben gave them 14 points. Not tomlin, Haley or anyone else. They were all on Ben. We had to be perfect on offense to make up for shortcomings on defense. One player couldn’t do it.

 

I am not deflecting as a matter of fact you are this was about Bell not Ben you brought him into it. The fact is with Ben, Bell, AB and rest we are considered by most the #1 offense. Maybe you don't feel that way but most do and talk about it, did we underachieve like BBH said hell yeah I won't dispute that. What I am saying is with Bell we are considered a top offense I am not ready to give that up in these last few years with Ben. Fix the D that is what we need to worry about and it starts with cinder block Mitchell and his 8 mil, also I will point out how much money we have wrapped in out 2 DE 26 mil.

Oh and if you think we had to be perfect on offense that is all the more to want to keep Bell....... We played freakin Bortles we shouldn't have needed to be perfect. Of course add in the fact our coaches called a bad game and year here we go playing from behind. Hey I have an idea let's play 7-10 yards off the ball and give Bortles easy dumps.........SMH at the coaching staff. Oh wait we aren't suppose to say bad things about them right????

 

News flash for you. We played the Jacksonville Jaguars not just Bortles. Just figured I should clear that up for you since you can’t seem to grasp the concept of team sports.

a team that was 5th in points scored and 1st in redzone td's lol. People can't grasp that jax at times was an explosive offensive team.

 

The local lament seems to be: "how could we let those clods in Jax and their moron QB score 42 against us?" A quick look at the 2017 Standings show that for the full season, the Jags scored more pts than the Stillers, and they managed to do it without the best WR in the league, the best RB in the league, the best OL in the league and a HOF QB. Yeah, their D scored some points of their own (and gave up fewer than Pitt too). But maybe, just maybe, the Jags offense was and continues to be underrated.

And I'll argue under rating them was a large part of the problem.

 

Everyone in this forum constantly contradicts themselves and it's sad.

 

Their defense also put their offense in better field position as well.

65 points on defense compared to the Steelers 14 on defense. Jagoffs 417 total - 65 defense for a total 352 on offense. Steelers total 406 - 14 defensive points for an offensive total of 392!

Jagoffs no doubt have a very good running game and we all know about how good their D is. Bortles however does not scare me and shouldn't especially after his 10 point 87 yard performance vs the Bills the week before.

Hardly great numbers for a top 5 offense............Did we over look them and look towards the Cheats IDK I don't have that info.

 

I didn't say the Jags had a top 5 offense, only that they were under rated. Leading up to the game, you'd think from hearing the fans, media and players, that Blake Bortles would have trouble jogging out to the huddle without tripping over himself. The Steelers scored 41 offensive TDs, the Jags only 39. They Jags scored a lot of pts this yr, yet the Steelers convinced themselves that they were playing the Browns again.

 

I am not singling you out I am responding to the few that are saying the Jags were top 5 in point.....they were just not all on offense. I take nothing away from what the Jags did this past season and I am not saying they weren't good. When you listen to the radio, watch tv or read about the jags the one thing that you keep hearing is how bad the QB play is. I agree he is average at best and we made him look good. JMO

 

Bortles only threw 1 TD pass in the game, he was 14 of 26 for 214 yards and had 5 runs for 35 yards, he managed the game on short fields due to some stupid play calling on 4 th downs and two costly turnovers, bortles was a very dilfer-esque game manager.......
