I love Bell, and his game is almost worth it in its own right, but dude has to grow. He's a ****ty leader and even worse teammate. (From what I can tell...)

He's as selfish as they come and one of the problems DD and AV are alluding too.

He only had like 67 yards on the ground, maybe he should have went to the walk through.

    Great talent lousy teammate.

As crappy as this is, and you don't want this kind of disease spreading through a clubhouse - his missing all but the final 5 minutes of the last walkthrough isn't the reason we lost. Not even close. Not even a small percentage.

Hope he grows up though, and rethinks his threat to retire or sit out next season.

Trade him to Chicago or Tampa for a 1 this year and next, or a 1 and 2 this year. Great talent, but with another drug suspension meaning a full year and these headaches, time to move on.

They can't trade him, he's technically a free agent. Unless they franchise tag him again. And if I remember right from last yr, they can't trade him if they tag him.

If they use the non exclusive tag that lets him negotiate with other teams and that is the right way for them to go:

Non-exclusive franchise tag: This is the most commonly used tag. When most people refer to the "franchise tag" it's generally the non-exclusive version to which they are discussing. It is a one-year tender offer to a player for an amount no less than the average of the top five salaries at the player's position over the last five years, or 120 percent of the player's previous salary, whichever is greater. The player can negotiate with other teams. The player's current team has the right to match any offer, or receive two first-round picks as compensation.

Have to disagree. Bell's play on the field didn't cost them the game. Lack of focus, lack of readiness and lack of a gameplan did. This is a huge part of that. It's both the symptom and the disease. It shows an absolute utter lack of care and preparation when one of your most important players can't be bothered to show up. It's a reflection of him, it's a reflection of Tomlin and there is no way it set the right tone.

The Bouchette article says this has occurred throughout the season with other players and even coaches. Are you kidding me!

Nobody is gonna give up two firsts. Maybe for a young QB. The best they're going to get is a 3rd rd comp pick.

Franchise him one last time. Make your run, then let him go. He's good but he's an ass. He has been since the beginning. And the suspensions. And he's gonna play. You think he's gonna give up that kind of money? Please.

Put the money into the OL. Draft another rb. By the start of next years season he'll be 27 anyway. Grab yourself a newer, much cheaper model.

If no team is going to give up two ones for Bell, at least he will find out what his value is, and those two 1 picks are negotiable, a 1 pick is very possible and if the comp 1 we get is a top 10 pick we win, and any offer bell gets we get to match it and if bell finds out he isnt going to get his mega payday on the open market, that just might humble him, and the vikings traded players and 5 draft picks to dallas for herschell walker so dont say getting two 1 picks is impossible....

Makes you long for Jerome Bettis, he never complained, wasn't selfish.
Even when they tried replacing him with Amos Zeroue, or Deuce Staley, and eventually Willie Parker.
He never made a scene, or batted an eye. He just kept working.

Tag Bell and let him sit out a season . Draft another running back. Prima donnas don't belong on anyone's team.

Respectfully disagree. Tampa already has there QB, solid D, might be thinking Bell puts them in the race for next years playoffs.

Day after the game he's tweeting about his contract. Night before the game guaranteeing victory. He played great minus all the BS. But he's got to go. Steelers better not reward this behavior.

Tag Bell and let him sit out a season or trade him for a #1 draft pick. Draft another running back. Prima donnas don't belong on anyone's team.

Do you happen to know if it's possible to trade his rights to another team? Say we traded his rights to an NFC team for instance, and that team could negotiate or tag him. Or is there any way to do an NBA style sign and trade? I would think we could at least get a first and a third for Bell.

You can move my thread but can you at least change the thread title. Nobody knows what "well that's nice... if true smh" Means. I saw thread but didn't click because I thought it was another rant thread.
