Not sure if Brees will make the hof. That said, he's a fine qb. Would instantly make this a better team over big bum.

Dudes, I remember that play! Thought his arm was going to be ripped off. Imagine holding your arm out to the side, bend your elbow 90 degrees, so it’s an L. Now bend it backwards 90 degrees plus.....

He's more of a shoe in than Ben the way the hall operates these days in all honesty.

Alex Smith while taking Ryan Finley in the draft (if he enters). Boom done.

The Steelers aren't going to pay a 39 year old Brees the money he wants, Alex Smith would be a younger and cheaper option.

Agreed with the first point. Who knows if the Steelers would try to sign him or not. Sure, you can say that the Steelers don't sign big name free agents, but how many times do QB's like Brees hit the market at the same time as the Steelers need a QB? The answer is never. QB's like Brees simply don't hit free agency. The Saints will resign him. If they don't, and Ben does retire, Colbert and company would be absolute morons not to at least try to sign Brees. They should all be fired if they didn't at least try. We have enough talent on this team to win a SB. I don't care who we draft next year (assuming Ben retires of course), Brees gives us a better chance to win the SB than any rookie drafted late in the 1st or later.

Brees is staying in NO. Chicago will stick with Trubisky and I think he'll be good. I think Peterman is going to be a good QB and will have success in Buffalo. I actually really wish we had drafted Peterman. Minnesota might sign Cousins. NYG might if Eli retires, although I don't see him being cut or traded just due to his name. Washington might even sign him finally or tag him again.

I think Ben is done. It just doesn't seem like he even wants to play anymore. He just seems mentally defeated

I know this is irrelevant to the thread, but I miss the dark blue Chargers uniforms. They were so much better than the ones they have now imo.

No one knows what the answer is. Move up to get Darnold, or whomever you feel is best, and you are rolling the dice that he could come in right away and produce.

And what is running down my chin? Care to elaborate? Want to take this conversation down the wrong path? You don't have to agree with me, but don't be a douchebag. K?

back to the question at hand anyway guys. i mentioned keenum and as of right now this kid is playing pretty well. he is the FBS div. 1 leader still in passing yards. over 19,000. my thinking is a young guy with some success that has been through at least 3 co-o's and has experience in the pro's as a starter. would we be that much farther ahead to bring a guy like that in instead of a rookie? we have a pretty veteran bunch to team him with here. why waste those guys on a rookie? possibly bring in a new co-o and keep the core of this offense together with a guy that has experience and probably won't break the bank.:cool:

No for me. If Ben retires after this season Bree's actually wouldn't be a bad option for a season or two. Hate to waste the talent we have right now.
Don't want some young inexperienced guy who can't keep a job.

he has around 30 game starts in the league i believe. more than our two backups at the moment combined. brees has i think zero chance of signing here. we don't have the money to start with come next year. we would have the talent to surround a player like him to help him out. at least thats my thinking on it glenn. just one to throw out there.

Do we think it is for sure Brees will be a fa, if the Saints void his contract I do believe they will have to claim 18 mil on the cap for 2019. That is a lot to take a cap hit on, so I can see the Saints keeping him until the contract runs out in 2020, no?

Dude, seriously, are you here to talk about the Steelers or to just be a little troll? You seem to spend a strange amount of time hovering around my posts. I'm flattered, but I'm not interested. Run along.

He has already stated he will stay with the Saints. I am hoping for either Luck/ Brissett, or Cousins, but Cousins price tag is gonna be huge. Keenum is intriguing.

I suppose it depends on what KC does this year and how Mahomes looks in practice. If They dont' win the SB and Mahomes looks good, they are gonna prob part ways with Smith. Think he would want to come here with our rising defense, Bell and Brown and a chance to stick it to KC.

I herd this a few times on my old forum, I say what I said than - First, why would you invest in a guy thats nearing the end of his career? Second, Steelers will draft BR replacement.
