I know some will scoff at this but I went back after yesterdays game and watched all the losses and there is a bad pattern. In every loss as soon as the offense would begin finding a rhythm moving the ball, DeCastro would be called for a hold and kill the drive, 16 drives in total, more than 3 times the amount by any other player. I think the guy us a beast but when he struggles it isn't for a play or two, it is for a few games and it looks like he is back in a slump. He had 2 holding calls and a false start, the same deal when the 4 game slide happened, I think they need to dress another lineman next week and if DeCastro starts playing poorly they need to yank him off the field, he gets in ruts and the poor play continues over a long period of time. What is more disturbing is his penalties seem to come at the most critical times, maybe Munch has to spend some time with him and get his head back because next week there won't be room for it.

I will agree but you have to also give him credit. those games wouldn't be close without him. he has been as good as it gets in run blocking this year at times. I will agree he needs to clean things up but I have also seen him put guys on their backs and open holes that I could run through.

for some reason he seems to be struggling this year with quicker lineman. jmo

Decastro has struggled. But he is still a good player. Plus he gets a pass from me, since he sent Burfict to la la land, at least for a little bit.

He layed out Burprick!!! , I'll let him off the hook for this week.. The way Burprick was coming in he was going for Bells knees again, DD saved him.

He almost sent himself there too. He looked like his bell was rung on that play.

He had a bad day. And yes his year this year isn't as good as last year. However, his positives still outweigh his negatives this year. Best pulling guard since Faneca.

If anyone finds a gif of that DeCastro-Burfict CAR CRASH, please feel free to share.

That's as nasty of a helmet-on-helmet collision as you will find. Not sure how either re-entered the game, especially Burfict.

Well burfict staggered off the field, and had the quickest concussion diagnoses ever, but then again they figured you have to have a brain to get a concussion.......

Really? DD is a liability? Are we from the same planet? Have you every seen DD play? Would we be the same team without him? What did I have for lunch? Sorry, had a senior moment there. Anyhow, wondering if DD is a liability is ludicrous. Right up there with suggesting AB is a liability to the pass game since he hasn't had a 100 yards receiving and a touchdown every game this year.

DeCastro has been off this year.. but Pouncey has been picking up the slack. This is definitely Pouncey's best year since his rookie year in 2010.

It will probably be both of them, and I don't know that I can argue with that. Burfict was reckless and out of control, but the way DeCastro dropped his head was pretty dangerous too.

Can't argue with you but if they were able to quantify intent and the history that that POS has he should get hammered. What pisses me off is when Harrison was doling out legitimate hits the league was fining him left and right. That scumbag is the dirtiest player ever and the league basically does nothing about it...they even let him back in the game when he is clearly concussed and give him more opportunities to ruin someone's career. If I had a taser with two shots left and it was him and (you pick the bad guy) I'd tase him twice...:hehehe:

I took massive heat from quite a bit of people on SteelersDepot and here about pointing at DeCastro's regression this season. Ironically enough, it all started against the Bengals in week two. Ever since then, he has gone downhill.

I am now glad that most people are catching on to what I have been seeing this season. DeCastro is simply not his All Pro self from a year ago. Hopefully he will be next season for I believe he is still a great player and even better teammate.

Fine or not, while I do have immense commiseration for those who are injured; Steelers players or not, for a repeat offender like Burfict, what goes around comes around considering that is the only way he will have to learn.

The fines and suspensions are more severe for repeat offenders, so I would expect his punishment to be far higher than DD's. It's hard to interpret anything but bad intent from the way he was crashing in head-down. I hope the NFL sees it that way and socks him hard.

You don't yank DD because he's having a bad game, he's still solid in run blocking.
