Trade AB, Pouncey, and Timmons for some teams 1st, 2nd, and 3rd rounders

I have a suggestion. What would you think about the Steelers trading Antonio Brown, Markice Pouncey, and Lawrence Timmons to a contender that could use them to put them over the top, for the contenders 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round picks in 2017, and their 2nd rounder in 2018?

We could use all 4 of those picks on DB's, especially CB's, and use all of our usual picks in 2017 finding studs that get after the passer.

We could use those 4 picks to find the best young DB's available, and use all of our picks to rebuild our Defensive line, and maybe find a good OT or Two.

Trading AB, Pouncey, and Timmons would save almost 30 million a year since they each make close to 10 million a year. That money alone could be used to sign the 4 picks we'd get, plus probably some left over to find a good FA linebacker to replace Timmons. You could replace Pouncey with a center off the waiver wire, and we are deep enough at WR to replace AB in-house.

That frees up our whole draft in 2017 and an extra 2nd rounder in 2018 to pick a couple QB's, a quality RB or 2, and OL depth. And a return specialist.

It is meant to be a rebuild or upgrade real quick to take advantage of Ben's last 3 or 4 years.

We need to improve the overall talent. Go from a team with a few elite players and 50 average players, to a team full of above average talent that plays excellent as a unit.

Surely we can build a real good defensive backfield with extra 1st, 2nd, 3rd rounders next year, and an extra 2nd rounder in 2018.

See, this is why I should have Kevin Colbert's job!

I agree, the Cowboys vs the Patriots should be one of the best Super Bowls in years.

But I think it would be good karma if its the Raiders vs the Patriots, and the Raiders win it, they got screwed 15 years ago with that tuck rule crap.

I would have dumped pouncey a few years ago, but he's damaged goods now.

No, Shazier has potential, Bell would be too expensive for a team, and Willie is about done - he has some miles on him.

Let's trade our pro bowl level talent... For draft picks that in a best best best case scenario would become pro bowl level talent

You ignore the saving 30 million a year in salary, drafting some DB's high in the draft, a few good OT's, a couple beast DL's, a couple of the best available RB's, maybe a return specialist, a couple good QB's, etc.

Read the OP with an open mind!

I'm simply disappointed that we didn't even allow Tajh Boyd to play in a pre-season game to see how he would do. If you look at his Clemson hilights, you can clearly see that there is some talent there.
Landry Jones was kept without competition for his job, they let Tajh go after he botched some snaps in practice from a 3rd string Center that he never took snaps from before.

I think AB is worth a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd round pick to a team that could use him to put them over the top, like Oakland, Detroit, Buffalo, KC. And Pouncey and Timmons are worth a 2nd rounder in 2018 to the same team.
    Good trade.
We could use those 3 picks on top CB, DL, and QB. And the extra 2nd rounder in 2018 on another top CB.
That would allow us to use all our regular picks in 2017 on another QB, RB, CB, Safety, NT, Return specialist, etc.
In the end, you would have three 1st rounders, three 2nd rounders, and two 3rd rounders, plus the rest of your regular draft in 2017 and 2018.
The idea is to put at least 8 new quality players on the field in the next 2 years, maybe more if the back end of the draft pans out, because Ben might only have 3 years left.
