It appears as he had a solid 38 snaps in relief of Foster. In fact PFF gave him the highest grade. This is very encouraging as he will probably play this Sunday vs the Chiefs.

Also to note is the poor performance of DD..... He gave up the Blocked FG and also gave up two sacks.

If Finney continues to show well we may be saying bye to Hubbard when either Dupree or LaDarius returns.

I agree he looked good. I pointed out in the game day thread that Finney looked pretty good and Decastro looked bad. I got a few people definitely not agreeing with that assessment.

I hope he's awesome but I also hope this wasn't just a case of being the tallest midget. I mean our whole line looked like hot garbage the other day and he might have benefited from how bad the others looked around him. I don't think of Foster as a worldbeater but our line has seemed to gel as a whole under Munch and that makes it a much bigger deal for him to be out because of what it does to the overall chemistry.

Foster is a phone booth kinda guy. He's hard to move in pass protection and can road grade in run plays but his down fall is mobility. Not the quickest or fastest OG. DD is supposed to be that and mobile, great in pulling but he was just abused and pushed around.

Our OT struggled with Phillys wide 9 ( DE lined up outside the OT ). Hopefully Finney can be that OG we need. Hubbard is terrible at OT and barely adequate at interior OL.

    Also hopefully Wallace returns soon.

Finney actually almost won the Rimington trophy at Kansas State and had 52 consecutive starts as a walk on. Loved the fact that he was essentially a steal in free agency a year ago. His play strength and functional strength (issues I had with him from the first year) are now ironed out.

He is a rock solid player. He is not flashy.. but he will get the job done.

How much of his positive grade is because he had limited responsibilities and how much is solid play? Did Decastro play bad due to absorbing some of Fosters responsibilities?

I'm not by any means an x's and o's guy but this is where I'd have used a two te set and a three step drop to force the Eagles out of wide 9. Let the DE go outside the TE can chip block on them or get a free release and slant towards the middle taking out the outside backer and dwill either shots the gap between DE and DT or Ben hits him on a quick pass. They start creep the safeties up then you have 1 on 1 on the outside with Brown, Wheaton/Coates/ or Rogers.

Really liked the UDFA signing of Finney and keyed on him for most of the preseason games in 2015. I always thought he did well and was glad the FO gave him that big PS contract to keep him aboard. Love to see guys like that coming up.

I will always have a deep admiration for BJ Finney all because of this. I hope he fills in well while Foster is out!

Brings a freaking tear to my eye. Man.

Had he came out of that Carolina game he would have made the final 53 without question.

His name cracks me up because it sounds like a negotiation with a back ally lady...."Hey, how much for BJ?". "Finney"

none of the bigger money boys played very well. DD, pouncey or gilbert. they need to clean it up this week and keep ben upright and give him room to operate.

Yeah I think there were a couple of plays where Pouncey just got straight up wrecked.

I really hope Finney can tape the finger up and play Sunday. I don't have a lot of faith in Hubbard.

I guess we'll see what happens a practice today.

Okay, Finney practiced fully today, so that's good news.

The rest of the injury report? Ouch.
