...and get our revenge In the SB.

You heard it hear first ;)

I think the NFC will have some new representatives in the playoffs, Eagles and Vikings. I give the edge to the Eagles because they have the QB to go with the defense and while I think the Vikings upgraded at the QB position, Wentz is going to be the new QB stud in the NFL.

On the AFC side, the usual suspects will be in play, NE, Denver, Cincy and Ravens will be back in the mix and probably KC.

By the end of the season, Burns and Davis should be much improved, hopefully Gilbert shows why he was a first rd pick (adding to Cleveland's misery), Buds back (fingers crossed) and all our offensive weapons minus Bryant.

I still like their chances. Yesterday was an aberration, if we take a beating like that once every 27 years (Cleveland '89), I can live with that.

And I hope we bury NE on our way to #7, would be so much sweeter.

Thats my story and I'm sticking with it. :steelflag:

I do expect Bud Dupree to be back. Keep in mind he was placed on IR.. not season ending IR.

    Two.. here is more evidence;

    http://orthoinfo.aaos.org/topic.cfm?topic=A00573

    Bolded parts are most important from this segment of the article;

    Surgical Treatment

Surgical procedure. Surgery to repair the torn tissues in the groin can be done as a traditional, open procedure with one long incision, or as an endoscopic procedure. In an endoscopy, the surgeon makes smaller skin incisions and uses a small camera, called an endoscope, to see inside the abdomen.

The end results of traditional and endoscopic procedures are the same.

Some cases of sports hernia require cutting of a small nerve in the groin (inguinal nerve) during the surgery to relieve the patient's pain. This procedure is called an inquinal neurectomy.

Your doctor will discuss the surgical procedures that best meets your needs.

Surgical rehabilitation. Your doctor will develop a rehabilitation plan to help you regain strength and endurance. Most athletes are able to return to sports 6 to 12 weeks after surgery.

Surgical outcomes. More than 90% of patients who go through nonsurgical treatment and then surgery are able to return to sports activity. In some patients the tissues will tear again during sports and the surgical repair will need to be repeated.

I do not believe that Bud Dupree has torn it; hence my cautious optimism for the latter bolded not happening. For the former bolded however, 6 to 12 is the time frame. I would say 8 weeks.

This means that Bud could return on the week of October 16th if it is the eight week timeframe. If ten weeks.. then that would be the Closing days of October and the beginning of November.

As for everything else... Philly in the playoffs currently is not that a farfetched idea.

I think you are right with the eagles. I believe it will be the vikes and eagles for the nfc championship. NE for the afc, though. And just because life hates me, the Eagles will be in the superbowl, but lose to Brady. And I will never hear the end of it from NDSU football fans......groan

Your close, but a day late and a dollar short. It will be the Steelers and the Vikings like I said a week age. The Vikings are a better team than the Eagles, it's that simple. I believe in it enough I bet it fairly heavy.

No rookie QB has ever made the Super Bowl. I don't see that changing this year. Steelers might make it, but Eagles won't

Oh please no, can't handle darth hoodie and Brady with 5 rings.

    Always a first.

No rookie QB ever started and won his first 2 games with no turnovers either, until Wentz.

The Eagles aren't going to the super bowl. Going in the right direction for sure. I like them, though I know that's blasphemy around here. :)

If Trent Dilfer can win a Super Bowl with an awesome defense, a rookie sure can. But not this year, and not against the Steelers.

1 game doesn't make a season. If they take a beating like that next week, I'll be more worried.

They had 4 quarters to show something. Anything.
This is not just a fluke imo

Yes we are. Browns 31, Steelers 10 a couple of years ago. We rebounded and made the playoffs, but laid another egg against the Rats w/o Bell. We've also laid some big eggs against bad teams, like the Tampa game in Pitt a few years ago and the 2nd Rats game last year vs. Maillett. The scores were just close because the teams were bad (or in the case of the Rats last year, dismantled by injuries). We can lay the wood or lay eggs with the best of them...

They don't lose by that wide a margin enough that Im used to it. Lay eggs against bad teams, yes, get blown out, no.

Interesting debate, as seen by the young season at W3...

Curious to come back after, let's say, w10 - w12, with the playoff picture taking shape.
Injuries, ecstatic schemes and adjustments, trade deadline and player development still have a say on this.

I would absolutely LOVE an all Pennsylvania Super Bowl. Oh, the drama there would be!

    I hope you're right, BF.

Wow, what a change. A week ago, the Eagles were overrated chumps who'd only beat Cle and Chi. This week they're NFC champs.

Let me offer an alternative: the Eagles are overrated chumps who are now 3-0 because they beat another overrated team.

It's still early, in the NFC, I can still see teams like Seattle and Carolina, getting their heads together and winning, Cardinals too.
Plus you got the experience of Rogers in Green Bay.
Cowboys don't even look bad, but Eagles are much improved, and have done well in a short period of time, especially after Chip Kelly tore their whole team apart inside out.

Steelers would have to get a #2 seed at least, in order to make the Super Bowl, IMHO. Judging by Sunday's performance... they will not even sniff a playoff bye, much less a wildcard berth. Eagles will falter sooner or later. They look good now... but they lack long-term weapons at WR and RB. This will hurt them in the playoffs if they get there.

I'm with the no guys here.

Wentz hasn't faced any pressure yet. Let's be real, he didn't go undefeated in college against worse athletes. He'll have his problems this year as teams get the Eagles figured out.

We'll see how it falls into place, but these injuries worry me. defense and Offence (Rodgers really hurts) Wheaton is streaky at best and teams don't fear him or Sammie.

    Damn you Martavis! Damn you!

I wouldnt crown the eagles just yet, they have some tough games on their schedule like in their division and they play the vikings and packers as well as the seahawks and ravens, this rookie hasnt seen a tough defense yet, when he does he wont be so cocky looking out of his earhole, eagles may win 10 games but that's my prediction, when they start going up against some tough defense like the vikes seahawks and others we will see how their rook reacts to that....

Yep I agree we don't really know what he is until a Team can play press and stop the 1st. read game ? If he can play well against that then the Eagles will have a great chance to go all the way ..I think he can , but am not sure he can...Like you stated we will see soon enough...

On the Steelers side I really see no road for us ..We are simply that bad on Defense IMO ... Next year they need to get aggressive and move up and get the #1 CB in the draft, it's time to stop drafting safe and getting BPA guys that can't really cut it....
