I have been a Steeler fan for 30 years. Never had the honor of traveling to the Burgh and started to think I was never going to. My awesome girlfriend would not rest until she made my dream come true. She got me tickets to see my boys play the Eagles in preseason. I had a Roethlisburger and loved it. I made it to Heinz Field and was in awe. As you can see by my avatar I even met the great Pope Yinzer in the Great Hall. I saw 30 years of hoping come to an end before my very eyes as Ben threw a practice bomb to AB for a score right in front of me. Even Landry and his four picks could not sour this for me. Hope this is the right place to post this. I had to share with Steeler Nation. image.jpeg

Glad you had fun! Heinz is an awesome place for sure. Pittsburgh in general is a great place for sports fans.

Wouldn't she be a little more awesome if she got you tix to a regular season game??? Just kidding!

Thanks for sharing, I felt the same way you did when I made my first visit, several years ago. Even the loss to the Jets didn't spoil it.

    Welcome to the board :drinks:

Kinda liked that it was preseason. Would have hated a heart attack my first time at Heinz lol. The Roethlisburger sandwich almost gave me one though. Thing is a beast.

I have also heard about the critical acclaim of the famed quaterback sandwich. How much does it cost?

Sounds like a great time, but why are you playing Rock, Paper, Scissors with the Pope?

Yeah with nothing riding on the game it does allow you to just take in the atmosphere and enjoy the day.

I took my Goddaughter to a game against Buffalo one year. My first in the "new" stadium, her first ever and it was awesome!

8.50 gets you the sandwich, awesome fries and drink. Maybe a tad more after tax. That place is a cool experience as well. Food is excellent. Good prices and many other items. I saw they had the Joey Portabella lol

See most people that live down that way don't partake because it's such a hassle to get in and out on game days. I grew up in various places around there like East Liberty, Homewood and Penn Hills. So my Uncle and Grandfather used to take me down that way occasionally.

Never did get all into the Primanti Brothers sandwiches, but the bread is good.

I don't know why, but I prefer eating a fish sandwich down at Wholey's. It's a bit different than when it was back in the 80's, but it's still nostalgic for me. Probably something about eating in a supermarket as a kid.

TRS may have rocked for Steelers games. I don't know never went for one.

I did get to go for a baseball game in the 70's and the sight lines from out seat sucked. Also, the set-up was terrible by modern stadium standards.

There's hardly a bad seat at Heinze!

Collinsworth still has nightmares about the extending BOUNCING bleachers that almost touch the field

Mac, the younger folk really couldn't understand.(not their fault too young) what a big difference there is in atmosphere
of the two stadiums. It is a totally different culture at Heinz Field.

I'm with you guys, the noise level at TRS was amazing and the seats near the field did bounce up and down.
Heinz field is cool, just different. :this!:
