Have an Idea About Our Helmet Logo

I`m a little worried long term about changes proposed to uniforms and helmets and wondering when we will be next. I`m thinking one day we will be told, "ok we are changing the logo and here are your 4 choices for the new look to vote on", assuming fans even get a say in the matter.

I thought it could be fun if somebody here who has the time and expertise with creating graphics could create some proposed changes and we could look it over and vote on it.

Maybe we will be surprised and stumble on something just about everyone will say is awesome.

Don`t know if anyone in the Steelers organization monitors this board, but would it not be something if we here discovered and approved what eventually turns out to be our teams new look if it happens?

Actually wished I thought about this idea earlier as we are getting close to the beginning of the season.

Pipe dream or good idea? IMO, I could live with changes (to logo only), but they would have to be small and mostly kept the original look, just made it cooler and left no regrets.

You know there has been graphic art students that have played around with several ideas and the ones I hat the least have metal look to the helmet with the hypocycloids spread out over the ridge of the helmet. That being said you don't mess with a classic look, the little black dress works would you really dress your lady in a purple flower print?

 

The Steeler helmet logo is a sacrilegious thing. It should never change.

The logo is just fine, the only change I would recommend would be putting it on both sides of the helmet.......

 

Remember the controversy the change from block numbers to the rounded style numbers caused? I can't imagine the team would do anything with the logo on the helmet, unless the Color Rush uniform has a different helmet.

 

Never! Steelers logo needs to remain as is. No need, or desire, for any changes.

 

Yes, I saw that and that kind of thing as well as some teams tweaking their logos (like the Dolphins did) makes me wonder if one day we will get blindsided with a change.

How about this, have you ever seen "3D" shirts? I wonder what our logo unchanged, but in 3D would look like.

Well now....I wouldn't exactly say THAT.....although I suppose it DOES take people's focus away from church on Sunday morning.....

 

Although plain...our helmet is yet another unique part of the steelers. No cheerleaders...the terrible towel and logo on one side. Sorry my friend

 

Jeez, the guy's just trying to fill some time in off-season. Give him a break.

He wasn't saying change the logo, he was saying if we were forced to change, what might the alternatives be. Just for ****s and giggles.

 

Let's just keep the Hypocycloids on the one side of the helmet and OR oron the other side.

Cater the helmet to the opposing team each week.

 

What about this 3-D image?

If the border had textured and polished steel plate look instead of just polished as shown here, even better.

It almost looks like a coin you could pluck off the helmet if it were real.
