What a frustrating game Thursday night! When the Pens tied it up 2-2 so quick and then had the man advantage right away on the penalty I was thinking - yesh! - here comes an 8-2 wipe-out on home ice to grab the Stanley! Gotta hand it to SJ - they were so efficient and opportunistic and played great D the rest of the way. Sometimes I wonder with the Pens "arena football" style play if they burn themselves out with all the mad-hatter chaos shooting? They consistently out-shoot opponents 2 and 3 to 1 but the scores don't reflect it much. I suppose the results are quite positive though - so keep on keeping on boys. So fun to watch - best entertainment since Mario and Jagr suited up. Beat em Pucks

 

It was an exciting game, for sure, but dang... Jones was our kryptonite.

I don't know how much more my heart can take. Maybe I need to take up knitting.

 

Not sure about that hobby, involves mighty sharp objects - my Wife hides her knitting basket from me on game days.

The Cup was not won or lost by either goalie imo The guys up front had some inspired play. Jones and Murray each gave their team a chance to win it. Both played great, especially Jones, but the Pens were too much. So proud...

 

Sid has to be elated to not only win it, but to be on the ice for the entirety unlike the Detroit win.

 

Congrats guys! Hopefully there's another Black and Gold team that's about to lift a trophy this year as well. And no Lady I'm NOT talking about the Buccos! LOL!

Well if you guys are going down then take as many as the stupid Cards as you can with you! I just don't think I could stand to see them get to the post and end our magical season. If we aren't gonna win it all I honestly would rather any other team in baseball beat us besides them.

I'd be afraid to let my kids get an autograph from this guy but he's now wearing the "other" black and Gold in the Burgh these days. Where's Smokey Burgess or Michael McHenry when you need a real backstop???

LOL! I actually have a "Snuggie" that's He-Man as well and when I put it on it has the armor and loincloth and everything. It looks SUPER awesome on me!

 

Still so emotionally charged from the win last night i can't express my thoughts yet. Just chills watchin what the team did for Daley and Duper. Mario smiling like you wouldn't believe.

 

Things worked out like they were supposed to. The Pens won the Stanley Cup playing like the best team in the league which they have been for some time this year, the so called experts were made to look like they don't have a clue when it comes to predicting anything and I won $4,500.00 to give me a good running start on my annual mission of raising as much money as I can to donate to Best Friends Animal Shelter at the end of the year.
My target goal for this year changed from 15k to 20k after winning my hockey bet so I still have a lot of work to do. I don't mind a bit because of the cause I'm donating to and the fact I'm keeping my promise to the only person I've ever cared about. It's time to work on the ponies until football season starts.
Wish I could say something positive about the Pirates or bet them this year but I don't see them being more than a club winning and losing about the same number of games. I still will follow and root for them. I started with them in 1955 when I was 10 years old and have no reason to quit now. This is just another one on those down years for them.
