I thought that it might be a neat idea to get everyone's first memory of our beloved Football team..

Mine happened in 1976 when the Oakland Raiders beat the Steelers (without Franco and Rocky) ;-) . My two older brothers were Raider fans and I being a little bit different chose the Steelers. Needless to say, 2 out of the next 3 years were very fulfilling! :dancing:

Boy, I can't really remember my first memory, lol!! But I do remember being an impressionable lad and seeing Lambert out there terrorizing players on the field. I think him alone could be the main reason i have been a Steelers fan all of my life. Swann as well. I can remember seeing his acrobatic catches and being amazed.

The Steelers were just crazy good and intimidating as all get out. I was instantly hooked!

Not positive on my first moment i remember being a steeler, becuase i can recall a few games before 2000. But the first real memory i had was from the 2002 season in the game against the Atlanta Falcons. As im sure many of you recall, that ended in a TIE. Steelers blew a 34-17 lead in the 2nd half. The thing i remember the most about that game is the very end. Maddox through a pass to Hines in the last second of overtime, and he came up a yard short. Hell of a game though, would have loved to beaten them!

I don't remember what my 1st memory was. All I can say is, Bradshaw wasn't even on the team yet.

Kent Nix? Dick Shiner perhaps? Maybe giving my age away now but I remember being under 10 years old rooting for our Steelers before Chuck Noll. Bill Austin was coach and we stunk, royally. Made it all the more gratifying when Mean Joe road into town along with all the other Steeler Hall of Famers, and the City of Champions was born! Ahh memories! :D

Watching the Steelers on tv, in the front room with my Dad, (a Diehard Browns fan), during their second superbowl win...
    I was 6 years old in `78...
All I knew, was I wanted to hit people like Lambert,
And if my Dad said the Steelers sucked, they must be GREAT!!!
    LOL :p
Then I started getting into the game of football, and realized how awesome that team with the cool looking uniforms was,
and got into fights on the playground with Cowboy and Clown`s fans, and have never looked back!
Been bleeding Black-n-Gold, and screaming for the Steelers every Sunday(or Monday, or Thursday, or whenever we played), since!! :drinks: :clapping:

That's not my first memory (first one was some mudbowl with the original browns in the early 80's) but... I will NEVER forget that final pass getting batting down in the endzone to end that campionship game! :blackeye:

For some reason I had it in my mind that it was Seau that did it but I just watched on YouTube again to be sure... it was Gibson.

I remember watching the steelers with my dad every Sunday from when I was little....But my first memory was December 27, 1992. Steelers vs Browns at Three Rivers stadium. I was 5 years old and my dad came home with 2 tickets for this game. It was cold and walking through the parking lot heading into the game my dad bought me a steeler hat to keep my ears warm, and as soon as we got in the stadium he bought me my first terrible towel. I remember everyone cheering and I didnt know all the steelers at the time but I kept seeing Barry Foster's name on the big screen. I was short and we were winning, so everyone was standing, my dad saw I couldnt see, so he picked me up and put me on his shoulders. My mom was home taping the game, and wouldnt you know it, We were on TV when I was on his shoulders. I am 24 years old now, and we still have the tape and I still have my 1st terrible towel. I have bled black n' gold ever since....Steelers won that game 23-13 by the way haha

I'm from Central America. In 1977, my mom received cancer treatment at Pittsburgh, where my godfather was a doctor. My dad came to Guatemala with many pictures, including Three River Stadium. I was 4 years old and began rooting for every Pitt's teams, specially me beloved Steelers !!!!!!!!!!!!!

My parents had season tickets since after WW2. They got 2 extra tickets to a game played at Pitt stadium when I was a kid. I sat in the sun and roasted. A bee stung me on the finger. I didn't have a clue what was going on in the game. I've been a fan ever since.

Slow time of the year, so I dug this post out of the moth balls.

Ugh not my first memory but I still see Seau batting down that pass.

My first vague memory is from a came in the early 80's we were playing the Browns and it was a snowy sloppy mess.... guys would get hit and go sliding. Don't remember who won :)

I did see the 70's team play but I honestly I have no actual memories of it.

I was born in 1982 and I will freely admit my first love was the SF 49ers, but more specifically, QB Joe Montana. Being from Canada there was no specific regional team to cheer for, but there was something about Montana that I went for.

That changed in 1992. I still can remember watching the sports news one night to see this young coach with a massive chin speaking with such confidence. I fell in love instantly with Bill Cowher, and immediately switched my Madden '92 team from the 49ers to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

    It's been love since!

I tried to find the video of Cowher's introductory presser but was unable. If anyone ever comes across it, please feel free to share!

Super Bowl X is the first game I can definitely remember watching. We would certainly have watched SB IX, but I just don't have any memories of it.

I became a Steelers fan about 1975 when the neighbor boy, a few years older than me, asked me what my favorite football team was. There was no internet back then- just Sears catalogs, which had everthing in the world in them. We looked through the NFL helmets, and I picked the coolest looking one for my team, which happened to be the greatest ever. And that is how a boy from the other side of the continent became a Steelers fan.

I'm like 4th generation Steelers fan. I remember the football cards before any gameday memories.
Then Jack Lambert football camp at Slippery Rock. Jack Ham had us run to a cone and turn and the ball would be there. He put some zip on it and stubbed my thumb. I was in pain and thought i broke it. Lambert came over, looked at it and said i was fine and told me to put ice on it. I still think it was broke.

When Chuck Noll was hired, times they were a changing. Dan Rooney, Joe Greene, And Chuck Noll
are the Steelers, We were the laughing stock of the league AKA the Browns. One of my early heart wrenching
memory's is when we lost to Dolphins on a fake punt. But I knew after that game, that we had arrived.

Wille Parker breaking free of the Seahwaks D in Superbowl 40, the first time I'd ever stayed up to watch the Superbowl. I decided I would 'root' for the team that wore white, as my favourite soccer team (Fulham) plays in white.

Thank god Bill Cowher decided to change the jerseys for that game or I'd have been a Seahawks fan
