I don't know about that. Maybe if it were London vs a Mexican resort in Cabo, Cancun, Tulum, Cozumel, etc . . . But London or Mexico CITY? I think London wins that one in a landslide. The travel time is pretty comparable as well.

Not the case in travel time this year since the texans and raiders are a lot closer to mexico than they are to london since both teams border with mexico....

SB week was a huge success in NY/NJ. The storm came after the game, who cares, did not disrupt the game itself or the activities leading up to the game. Unlike, say Dallas where snow derailed things very much before the big game. There will absolutely be another cold weather SB.

The SB has an impact between 200 - 500 million on local, regional and state economies and cost about 30 - 50 million to host.

The only question is, can Pittsburghs infrastructure handle a SB. I'm guessing Rooney thinks it can.

We all know the NFL is insistent on international games. So, they're going to get their way. I think the solution is actually pretty simple.
Expand the season to 18 games like they've been talking about for a while now. Also, expand the roster sizes a bit, to say 60. Those two games will be the games not played in a city that has a current NFL franchise. One could be an international game (Tokyo, Mexico, London, Spain.. wherever) and one game could be played in a US city without an NFL franchise (Oklahoma City, Vegas, Cleveland, Aloha Stadium in Hawaii for instance). And, give the teams a bye week after the travel game. Seems like a pretty easy solution, and once that I think most people would get behind. The team wouldn't be losing a home game, the season ticket holders would only have to pay for one meaningless game, and it gets the NFL the exposure they so desperately crave.

I dunno. I would THINK it can, but it brings with it a whole lot of traffic, and I imagine most of the parking would be taken up by media. So, where do you put all those cars? The T, while good, is jammed packed on a normal game. I'd kind of hate to see it during a Super Bowl, unless they add about 100 extra cars to the line.

I disagree. I don't think they'll be another cold weather Super Bowl. Nowhere did I hear it was a "huge success". I heard quiet the opposite where players felt a game of such magnitude be played in the most perfect conditions/weather possible.

Of course New Yorkers may have liked it because they've always had a sense of entitlement because they believe their the center of the universe. The public at large does not want to see a game played in the cold/rain/snow. Cheapens the game.

New Yorkers have a sense of entitlement and believe they are the center of the universe just like San Diegans are all burners who surf all day and don't know what 2+2 equals. See how that works? Try not to generalize an entire city.

As for the SB, only thing that was a failure was the lopsided game itself.

maybe after all the lawsuits about the concussions and the end of football in the US as some want, this may be the new NFL or IFL (international football league). we may have to start rooting for the pannama steelers at that point.:cool:

Take a poll, fans in general do not want to see the biggest game of the year played in the rain or snow.

just because something is generalized, doesn't make it wrong. I stand by that generalization; and its just that....a generalization because not every single New Yorker is like that. But in general (majority) , yes they are.

Terrible, terrible idea. GREED. What about the local service industry people that count
on this income to support their families? I hate exporting this american product
    anywhere,Canada and Mexico included.

I'm not a huge fan of a Super Bowl being played in a cold weather state. The chance of freezing cold weather and snow can potentially ruin an incredibly expensive experience.
With that said, there's been an ice storm for a Super Bowl in Atlanta and a snowstorm for one played in Dallas.
    Can't control the weather.

There will be another Super Bowl played in New York Or some other cold-weather state you can bet on that.

The only country I would see the Rooney's would be willing to give up a home game for is Ireland.
As far as Mexico, make Jacksonville or some team that can't sell out give up a home game and we will go play them in it.

I am offended! I've lived in San Diego since 1968. I never learned how to surf and the only thing I burn is dinner! 2+2? It depends on what your definition of 2 is!

start the season in may and skip all this bad weather. every team can host like baseballs all-star game. make baseball play in the winter. is it a snow ball or a baseball the pitcher is throwing? you know make the game more exciting. :hehehe::cool:

I don't have to, this has been talked about plenty of times and I can tell you just as many fans like the SB to be played in the elements. Its ok to play all the games in the playoffs in inclement weather but the SB you can't? :bscow:

Not to mention, it was 50 degrees for the SB in NY! Yeah, thats going to realllly deter them from choosing another cold weather site.

    My God, you are uninformed.

:lolol: I knew you were going to respond to this.

Sure a Super Bowl can be played in Atlanta or Dallas...because they have domes. But there will not be anymore cold weather, outdoor Super Bowls played. Let Chicago, Minessota and the like get a cover, and then that's fine.

football is meant to be played in all weather conditions. if it's to cold for ya, sell your ticket to somebody thats not such a diva. this game wasn't intended to be just for the rich and famous. it's turned into the oscars. play it where ever when ever and let it remain as it was intended. heck the ice bowl is still talked about. we play in the north all year let that mean something. to bad for miami and the teams that play in the warm weather and indoors. get here early and get used to the elements.:cool:
