He was released by the Bills today a cap casualty, the Steelers need some pass rush help. He's 31 I think offer a 2 year incentive deal, gives him a chance to play for a winner. Williams didn't like Rex Ryan's defense last season, his sack numbers were down.

I've wondered a lot about him. I wouldn't mind having him either but I would probably about fall over if they signed him.

I doubt he is even on the Steelers radar and if he didnt like playing in Rex' defense, he won't like playing in ours where we ask our LB's to drop into coverage so much, something he complained about in Rex' defense.

We should be spending our money on a safety or CB, Mario will tie up too much money.

I saw "Mario Williams" and immediately thought, ah yeah, he was only drafted the other year...

    I'm getting old.

Mario probably has something left in the tank, and can help someone. However, he'll likely end up on a team that runs a 4-3 where he can play DE and just attack the backfield all day.

Yeah I remember he was actually drafted ahead of Reggie Bush and people couldn't believe it. Time flies for sure.

Obviously besides williams cap hit of 15 million this year due from his 100 milion$ contract good through 2017, he wasnt happy with ryans 3-4 defense, and his playing weight is 292 better suited for a 4-3 pass rusher, so it's unlikely he will sign with any team for chump change and play in a 3-4, his sack totals have been consistantly productive through out his 10 year career but his sack total slid to 5 in 2015, so he isnt the right fit for our 3-4 defense, nor is he affordable....

The Patriots released veteran TE Scott Chandler, he could be a cheap option for depth at TE.

We are thin on the D-line. So to say Williams wouldn't help is crazy. I personally watched how Sexy Rexy misused Williams in Buffalo and the guy still has game in him. But us going after a name guy like that just isn't our front office's way of doing things.

Now Charles Johnson might be a guy we could swing and he can surly help. A two year contract is what I'm thinking.

I disagree with this article, first off peppers is 36 and was 34 when he signed a low ball 3 year contract with the packers, williams is 5 years younger than peppers, and he isnt looking for a back up role, he is looking for a starter role with some team, for those reasons this speculative article is a little bogus based on one writers opinion...
