I'd like to see a FA safety or round 1 safety. Then a round 2 corner to pair with Golson. Keep Boykin and Gay to go along with Cockrell.

Question. In my memory, Timmons was a bit of an under performer his first few years. Woodley definitely out played him, albeit in a different position. He only made probowl last year. Timmons is a leader in this defense. So my question is, could J Jones perhaps be a late comer like Timmons. And in 4 years could we be glad we kept him?

I don't think you'll see Geathers. IIRC didn't he have an undeclared medical condition pop up, which is why he was placed on IR?

There's been no talk of it, but I thought it was pretty serious. If so I'm not sure how he manages his size/strength during an NFL season.

Yeah what was the deal with Clifton Geathers? I'm still trying to find out what specific injury he actually got put on IR for. It seemed the coaching staff liked him, said it would be a project to resurrect his career, but they thought he was going to shine this year, and then he is gone with no mention. I feel they really could have used him as veteran depth on our line.

I was listening to SNR this morning... Listening to some Tunch and Wolfe from 2 weeks ago... both of them said Cortez's Knee is basically shot... there is no cartilage left. I thought is was just a ligament thing he might have been able to rehab and maybe make a turnaround.

I only want CB's/Safety's that aren't afraid and are willing to tackle. We saw this year how bad
our tackling was, this is something Coach T should emphasize and teach from day 1 Mini Camp.

    I remember that as well.

I think Geathers is one of those "preseason favourite" guys, and that's the limit.

It wouldn't surprise me. I think with some of our LBs it's about how they click with the d-line as well; a bit like on the other side of the ball, you could have the best RB in the world, but if he doesn't have the timing down with the o-line, he'll look bad.

I'm not saying that's why Jones has looked less than expected, but more he's shown adjustments to the pro game this year in terms of timing and positioning. I don't think he'll make the pro bowl, but I don't think we need a replacement for him just yet.

Harrison was a late bloomer. Remember he was cut a couple of times. That's one of the reasons his body has held up this long. Problem is JJ was 2 years older coming out of college.
