An understatement I know but I feel it applies to Pittsburgh more than any other team (Yes, even more than yours Patriots fans). Here are the areas that must be given attention.

    • Kicking: How many did we even have this year??? Don't get me wrong, I think Chris Boswell is fantastic! Scobee on the other hand still makes my blood boil
    • Running Back: Uuuuuugh this is why we got DeAngelo Williams in the first place. It was the depth we missed last year when Le'Veon "best RB in the league" Bell was injured after the Bengals game...Déjà vu right?
    • Wide Receiver: As fine a collection of receivers as the US Navy has ships. Surprisingly weathered the storm well in Denver but a full deck is preferable
    • Quarterback: Listen, the man is unstoppable.
    • Secondary: Not too banged up, mainly a personnel issue. Good play down the stretch was a glimmer of hope but more muscle back there will do a world of good.
Related to staying healthy there is one man that MUST be stopped in 2016

    Vontaze Burfict
Of all our troubles that plagued us this season this ******* was the thug would intentionally cut the legs out from under us this year, literally and figuratively. He robbed us of a chance to play to our full potential to win a title. Either he calms his play down or I am openly rooting for a tight end to fly in and break his leg and tear his ACL...shameful I know, but thats what it has come to.

The secondary didn't get too banged up because they hardly never tackled anybody.

Unfortunately, we're on the 3rd or 4th straight year where injuries have been a pretty big issue for the Steelers. In the last couple of years, we've had discussions here about the need for better conditioning, but unfortunately, it continues to be a problem.

I thought the title read "Heath is key to 2016"

I was like, I love me some Heath but no.

Hopefully they got the injury bug out of their system. I always feel they have a shot to win it all because Im a homer like that but I really believe it next year, just a little more tweaking.

Conditioning doesn't do much for concussions or broken bones, ligament tears, ankle sprains ecetera???

I think that is key every year. I think what we concentrate more on is our depth. Getting the right people in those backup spots that can contribute immediately and won't be a significant drop off from the starters. I know that is hard with free agency but we need to evaluate our backups hold them accountable as we have seen you might be in a pivotal game sometime during the season.

Your right but it does help in being quicker and more agile that helps in getting less injuries. Example is Ben could help himself with better condition and a little quicker feet. When he was younger and quicker he was able to get out of sacks by moving in the pocket some. Now being a little older, a little slower, and little less agile is causing him to get sacked and injured more. He could and should get more conditioning to help himself and the team by being a little more agile and quicker feet in the pocket and thus less sacks and injuries.

He also needs to get rid of the ball quicker sometimes but that's another subject.

Yeah, this is exactly the reason that conditioning can help reduce injuries. It's not to keep a break from happening if someone falls on your knee or leg, it's to help players be able to react more quickly and to be better able to avoid injury situations.

Our backups except for qb were pretty special - Williams was a stud, brown being out only had a slight drop off, defense backups weren't too much of a drop off either, although probably because starters aren't stellar. QB is where we need some skill, as I don' t see Ben playing a 16 game season.

This thread was posted on Tuesday & I just now noticed that it said health instead of Heath.

I really hope the injuries will be kept to a minimum next season. I hate that we play the scummy Bungals twice. That's 2 times we have to get on the field with a team full of dirty players intent on causing as many injuries as they can. They're gonna be especially dirty after we ended their season.

A lot of injuries happen in the preseason. I kind of wish they'd make the preseason 2 games & add 1 or 2 games to the regular season.
