When our opponent has a "bad line, or bad offense" or whatever, I expect them to do opposite.

    Scrub lines shut us down.

    Scrub receivers blow us up.

    Any QB lights us up.

This is the standard, we know this and have to accept it lol.

No more skipped heartbeats. I'm officially becoming detached this season but will keep rooting

I hear you!!!! Just can't invest the getting all excited for a game to be disappointed once again by dumb coaching deceisions.looking at this team being so loaded with talent (except secondary) we should be dominating opposing teams "not happening" so as always I'll root for the Black and Gold prepare for the worst and hope for the best.

I learned that Seattle was who we thought they were. I bet 95% of us circled that game at the beginning of the year as a loss. I'm not surprised that we lost. We basically all predicted it one way or the other. It just really sucks that we were thisclose to winning the damn thing and ended up essentially pissing it away.

With the way the Seahags were getting all the bounces and fluke plays, something was going to make sure that we weren't going to win that game.

    Damnit...

On the bright side, assuming Ben misses no time and considering the injuries mounting in the northeast, I'm comfortable saying that we are the most dangerous AFC team. Make an obvious change to our secondary and I think we run the table.

We are the most dangerous team, but we will never play up to it, so you can forget that. It's come to the point where we just need to stay healthy and hope the opposing teams make more boneheaded plays than us. Seattle executed a good game with no turnovers, that's the difference.

We play up to it all the time. Even against Seattle we were playing up to it until some weird stuff started going down. Like Jimmy Graham thinking he was in the circus, Martavis Bryant letting balls bounce off his chest into Kam Chancellor's arms, a ball conveniently touching the sideline just prior to our recovery, etc, etc.

I know we just lost and it really sucks, but it's not like we just went in to Cleveland and got manhandled. We lost to a very good Seattle team in possibly the most hostile NFC environment. The early talk of a February rematch isn't as crazy as some may think.

I invest way too much time and emotions onto Steeler football, to be constatly let down by a team, and coach who cannot play up to their potential. I think i'm gonna take a different aproach this Sunday evening and just chill out?? Easier said than done, but this is getting old. I agree with the above post that we are one of the most dangerous teams, but I also dont see us being able to win it all with a swiss cheese defense.

I know, I think about my boys all the time lol. It's unhealthy but at least I get over a loss in minutes compared to days like before.

Please elaborate on this obvious change that's needed to be made.

Blake has played himself out of his spot on the defense. And probably Allen, too. Give Boykin some more snaps if he's health, and plug Golden back in there.

Benching Taylor back in the day helped his development, so maybe the same can be done for Blake. Regardless, we can't have him out there missing tackles.

    I agree.

Most of us have been waiting for Boykin to make a start. Why hasn't he? After Blake's performance yesterday he should take a backseat for sure. And yes Golden needs to start. If both Allen and Blake start someone needs a serious change in prescription after viewing the tape. This secondary is ranked 30th in the league. Personally I feel it's a bit to late. It is what it is and better be addressed in droves in the off season.

I've been watching the steelers since 1969-70...and I can truly say that this is the worst secondary we have ever had and I'm including the Scott/Washington connection.
Now, from what I'm observing, it has to be the secondary scheme....and that goes back to coaching and evaluating talent (coach Lakes) because the whole secondary was missing assignments and out of position. Mediocre receivers having the games of their lives. Even if the guy catches the ball...there is no one in sight to light him up...so that he think about catching the next pass. Shazier is turning out to be another k.bell...impact player, but can't stay healthy enough to show it consistently. At least k.bell wasn't a 1st rd draft pick
