So the gameplan was working in the 1st half and they were winning. Then it switched up in the 2nd half and they started giving the decoy more looks? I'm sure it was Ben or Haley saying geez screw getting the win lets get AB some more balls. I'll let you piece that one together.

I broke down almost every scoring drive for you. Seahawks started at the Steelers 40 for at least 24 points. What do you expect? They are already in field goal range. Yeah, it would have been nice to hold them to some field goals but I don't expect that from this young defense. Seahawks only scored once when they had to drive the whole field and that was the last one. Blake was doing his best Ike Taylor impression.

And that is why we have to draft 7 CB/Safety's in April. Took us 10 years to fix the O line
After watching Denver kick NE's ass, they will kill us too, with their backup QB no less

I understand what you're saying, but you have to admit the defense was Jekyl/Hyde throughout that game. One series - awesome. Next series - what? 3 plays and a TD? Next series - good stop. Next series - who is that back there, Joe Montana? No wait.. it's Russell Wilson. Just sayin.

(And don't even get me started on the TE problem we have - I posted it a couple of weeks ago: if I were an opposing OC, I would line up 3 TE's every play and force the Steelers to stop me. Hint: they can't)

Nah, I didn't think you did. I was just piggy-backing your point that what it came down to was simply Ben forcing some throws Brown's way. I should've worded it more clearly; my bad.

The frustrating part is that things teams generally don't do well, but can seemingly do at will against Pittsburgh, will go back to being difficult the following week. Wouldn't be surprised if Seahawks 3rd down conversion rate goes back to 'not very good' against the Vikings next week...

On the plus side, the Colts are undefeated with Hasselbeck at the helm, so maybe in an ironic twist, they WON'T be able to do the things the've been able to do against other teams....but I'm sure they'll find the stats where the Colts struggle where suddenly they'll be having 'season best' performances.....

Meh, any given Sunday. Denver has had some really ugly-looking wins this season. Credit where due for pulling a win outta their hat, but they have looked pedestrian a number of times. Though with the year Manning has had, having their backup in there is actually a plus for them.

Another QB had a "career game" against us.. Watch, Hasselbeck will have his best game in a decade next week.

and there is only one way to change this. quit ignoring the problem of having no talent at db either through the draft or free agency they have to find someonewe can all sit here and blame coaches officials or anything else but the fact remains they cant stop the pass no matter who the QB is.imagine being the offence know you have to score almost every time you touch the ball to have a chance

My friends when you have an all pro vs an all pro they basically neutralized
each other Ben did the right thing in going to the other receivers. Sherman did a wonderful
job on AB. Wheaton is an AB clone he has all the skills to be sucessfull and will when he
signs with another team for more money. MW will consistently catch 70/year. Bryant
the dope smoker had a so so game. The Steelers are enamored with his skill set.
I just hope he has beat his demons and continues to improve. Enter Sammy Coates.
    Our secondary is horrible.

Part of me wonders if the tactic was to throw to AB, in part because if he didn't make the catch, they'd still get the PI - similar to Bryant. Problem was, both were a bit off their game, and the PI wasn't getting called.

We all know this offense is at its best when the ball is spread about, and we all know that Ben has 'go to' guys that he can sometimes focus in on a bit too much.

This said, I wouldn't put the whole loss on that. In the 2nd half, everything just went wrong from every angle possible.

The one thing that made me wonder is why with the game plan in the 1st half working so good would we change it in the 2nd half. I am by no means dumping on Ben here with my next statement I would not want another qb in the NFL on this team....well maybe Rogers he fits our system. But the thing I noticed over the years is Ben loves to air it out deep and quite frankly he can't. Look at how many times our wr's have guys beat and have to come back to the ball. Lots can be said about how BB is always on the move and can't plant and throw or how he is always throwing with guys on him and you would be right. Again not dumping on BB just want to point out how great this gamplan was in the 1st half with the short pass and how it changed in the 2nd half.

I think before you start placing blame on AB you need to take a look back and say is it AB or BB??? Go back to when BA left as our OC and Haley came. There was tons of so called problems between BB and TH...why cause TH wanted to change the way we played. Wanted to shorten the game and save our qb from hits and injury. I think BB loves the deep game and this is more about him then AB, jmo.

I'd like to think with our Jekyl & Hyde team that we'll win against the Colts hands down - all depending on how Ben's concussion goes, of course. But don't be surprised at all if we make Hasselback look like Tom Brady 2.0

Plenty of blame to go around for the loss yesterday.. Antonio Brown though? Are you serious? Do you think Wheaton gets 200 yds or Miller being open over the middle all day without Brown on the field? I don't.

Of course not. You are missing the point.. They were spreading the ball around, winning, and 0 turnovers because of the the offense in the 1st half. Then in the 2nd half it became force it to AB. I know not once in 2 weeks of preparation was it brought up "Hey! It will be a good idea to throw a deep jump ball to AB against Sherman" That's why they have Bryant and against a less skilled db at that. Both of the turnovers were results of Ben trying to force it to AB. Something he didn't try to do in the 1st half so what changed!!?

I know exactly what it was AB was in Bens ear probably all day. This game was hyped up as best db vs. best wr. The first one.. Steelers defense was getting stops. They were up a touchdown and had the ball so Ben is like okay now I can try to force it to him.. Slipped and int. Then he's like my bad, it slipped. I got you next time and dude falls on his face. Those two turnovers are the game imo. They stick to the gameplan and they are either up 7 or 14.

Also, the seed of selfishness was placed by AB by bitching at Jones after one bad throw on his 1st possession of the year.

Our defense is bad.. It was masked by timely turnovers and opposing offenses shooting themselves in the foot. When those 2 don't happen 39 points is the result lol. Teams drive on us all year, it's no anamoly. Just need to get lucky and keep Ben healthy. #7

Yes, they aren't great and everybody knows this except Tomlin. But they have done enough to win when you give them enough field. They are young and going to make a bonehead play here or there but they need enough field to get another chance. Bend don't break doesn't work when the other team starts every possession on your side of the field. They held Brady and the Pats to less points. Seahawks scored the most points all season and their offense really isn't that good. So when you figure out why that rare occurrence happened then you figure out the root of that problem.. You then have the reason why they lost.

You're right, our defense is bad. But our offense didn't help it with the turnovers yesterday. 21 points off turnovers cannot happen when you have a defense like ours. They need all the help they can get!

The patchwork secondary was exposed. The Defense as a whole was bad. Special teams were horrible. Lack of TD in the red zone. Turnovers led to scores. Antonio Brown? He was schooled by Sherman and was non existent so others picked up the slack. I don't get your point. Lot's of blame on a team loss but Brown to me really wasn't one of them.
