Glenn, With all due respect, not once did I say I wanted Williams to have equal carries. I will admit that I did say that he should be given the ball 10-15 times a game before kickoff and I do realize that it would have been half the carries for that game after the fact. Yes, that was way off base with how the game unfolded. I will agree and he should not have been used that much. That was dumb prediction on my part from the beginning.

    Here is my point though.

I just don't see why Williams was only on the field for 3 plays, 1 carry for 2 yards very early in the game and then abandoned completely. Bell was pretty ineffective in running the ball but a bit better catching it out of the back field which did mean more playing time.

Bells longest running gain was 23 yards which other than that he had a 2.16 yard avg.

Why was our 100 yard a game, 5 yard avg. rusher riding the pine so much? I just don't get that rationale of being so loyal to one player when a 1 - 2 punch would wear the defense down more.

So what are you proposing? Taking an all around weapon like Bell off the field or to have them both on the field? Who sits to have that formation?

Williams is going to be used just as he was intended to be when he was signed, insurance. Im sure his touches will go up but not a whole lot I bet. Williams is only going to be used so Bell can catch his breath, you dont take a player like Bell off the field unless you have to, has nothing to do with loyalty.

You did say you wanted them to have equal carries word for word. I posted your quote earlier in this thread.

Our oline is not the grinding type anymore. Plus we usually don't have huge rushing yards against the Raven. Additionally, I believe the Ravens will load the box to stop the run and force Vick to throw or run.

Ok. Then I must have. I still believe that the best way to use them is complimentary to each other and that even means being on the field together at the same time, whether it be as wide outs in which they did on the first play of the game or in the back field together with one of them shifting wide to either catch or block for the other.

I would definitely have a handful of packages that involve both on the field at the same time. There are plenty of options to sit a WR for a play here and there. I don't think Williams should be used as insurance only.

They did that a few times against the Rams.
