I know. What difference does it make? We lost. Did that have something to do with it? Possibly. But, we wont get the win back so...

Well, if everyone is talking about headsets they aren't talking about poor timeout management or leaving Gronk uncovered. Pretty smart play all things considered.

Those saying the NFL controls the headsets may be right but it is up to the home team to maintain the communication infrastructure.

Sorry but I call BS on this comment. Mike Tomlin can be criticized for plenty of things, but he is not a whiner. He usually is very upfront in saying "we got beat, we need to do better, etc." I think he really believes something is fishy up in NE with the communications. It doesn't mean he is right, but he (and his supporting executive management) feel strongly enough about it to register a complaint.

Keep in mind - other organizations have complained about Gillette Stadium as well and the point that it happens at other stadiums is true, but Tomlin's point is it always happens in NE.

A headset didn't make any difference in this game, how far would Tomlin have to walk to stand by Haley when the offense is on the field and how far would he have to walk to stand next to butler when the defense is on the field???? No excuses for how bad this team looked last night, communication doesn't remedy poor execution and poor coaching..........

And how far do they have to walk to talk to the guys in the booth?

We played poorly. The loss is on us.

But that doesn't mean that the issue at hand doesn't have merit.

Ever think that maybe this time was the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back?

    1 time, annoying.

    2 times, <sigh>.

    3 times, come on, man.

Sooner or later, you have to say enough's enough.

I disagree. If they can't communicate with Timmons to get in correct alignment no wonder they were out of position. It's just another advantage they have over u. I can't say it was difference but they did seem to play better in second half when they worked

Evidently the guys in the booth were as clueless as tomlin, butler, and haley from the way we played.....

Indeed, Tomlin is not one to make excuses. Even DK mentioned this in this column this morning: if Tomlin is angry over something like this, then there must have been something terribly, terribly awry.

Tomlin said in his presser (and all the reports agree) that only coach to coach comms were effected.

Nobody is arguing that the Steelers lost because of a headset issue. Point is, it didn't help matters at all. And the fact that this happened, just days after an ESPN report about such technical glitches, is nothing short of the Pats telling everyone to eff off.

Tomlin didn't really give a whole lot of detail about the exact issues and who exactly was effected, but it was not just coaches headsets according to Belichick.

I was just listening to the presser on Rome heading to lunch. A reporter asked Tomlin if the problems were with coach to coach or player comms and he said "coach to coach" I didn't listen to the whole thing but I did hear that quote.

You know, I almost feel like there wouldn't be such an outcry if the Patriots organization at least took some responsibility.

Something as simple as Kraft coming out and saying "We are deeply embarrassed by this. While we don't have complete control over the communications, it is our stadium and infrastructure that caused the problem. We're aware this has been an ongoing issue for many (most) of our opponents. And we are working diligently with the league to correct it."

But they won't. They'll respond the way they always do:

Right. This is exactly like the deflategate thing - "well, they would have own anyway..." The point is, these things are meant to work. And they didn't. Hence, a complaint.

I don't think anybody is saying that it's the reason we lost.

Hey, maybe it wasn't even a deliberate move by the Pats. If so, then it's a problem with their stadium tech that they need to fix.

(And maybe it's the perfect game for them to do something like this deliberately...)

Absolutely. I heard the press conference. Tomlin was very angry. I believe him when he says this kind of crap happens every time we play there. And its not just Tomlin. One of the Browns players said he never has issues getting the plays UNLESS its at Foxborough.

We didn't lose this game because of the headsets. The point is, its illegal, its unethical, and SOMEONE needs to put a stop to the Patriots screwing with everyone else's stuff.

Also - maybe the Pats know its a problem and choose not to correct it and Coach Bill says we can work around it - they should be prepared to work around it too. But as an opposing head coach you basically feel like when I go to an opponent's stadium or when I am home I know the radios work most of the time....so it shouldn't be a problem....i.e. the Patriots say we'll adapt because we are use to it while you guys will go through periods where you are a bit SNAFU'd and when that happens on defense we'll go high tempo/no huddle.

If the Patriots ran a hotel and the lights went out all the time it is almost like they would say..."well you should have been prepared and brought a flashlight...we always keep a flashlight handy."

One of the sports shows was saying that Tomlin is just the tip of the iceberg and that coaches will go on record now of voicing their displeasure with NE. In the past, hoodie and the organization was afforded a mutual respect, even know a coach may have felt exactly like Tomlin did last night, they wouldn't speak out about it. Now everyone is fed up with NE's act and its going to be open season.

Yes, I think that is exactly what will happen. I am listening to Ruscillo and Kannell currently. Danny Kannell has a LIST of complaints from head coaches about what goes on at Foxborough going back as far as 2008 (or earlier).

Ok well now Adam Schefter is reporting we are NOT filing a formal complaint but that we provided information for the NFL regarding what happened at Gillette Stadium last night. Sigh.
