Bryant played well in the last game, but he still seems to rely on getting flags downfield (similar to this time last year). I know drawing flags is part of the game these days, but I'd like to see a little more fight from him on those plays. The flags aren't always going to come.

I just want to disagree with a couple of things said on here. 1. Someone said that Bryant is a cancer that we need to get rid of. Really? The guy is a height /weight/speed freak who makes plays, and is almost impossible to match up with unless you pull coverage off of Brown. Yes, the Gordon and Blackmon examples show us how bad things can get, but there are guys who get scared straight. 2. Someone said to trade him for a high pick - I think a 2nd rounder was mentioned. That's pretty unlikely. Holmes was at this same point legally, and we got a 5th for him - and he was a SB MVP in his prime. Nobody is giving up a high pick for Bryant right now.

The proper course of action is to work with the kid and get through to him how he's on a path to self destruction. Use Gordon and Blackmon as prime examples of how bad it can get for him. Scare him straight. I think that road offers better odds of success for the team than getting rid of him.

i don't think he's going anywhere. the team did cover they're butts though with coates as a 3rd rounder or at least tried to if bryant doesn't get with the program. it's up to him now. bell seemed to learn his lesson, hopefully. i agree elvis, but holmes is probably scratching his head right now wondering ( why me and not him).

NFL is upholding Bryant's 4 game suspension.

I think I know the answer to this but, has anyone heard why he was appealing the decision? On what basis?

It seems like a pointless appeal when it's a failed weed test.

I used to think how dumb can Josh Gordon be. Now we get to live the Browns dream with Bryant.

While this hurts us for games 3+4, it may be better for the long run that the NFL swiftly denied his appeal. He needs a healthy dose of fear for his future right now, and a reduction of the suspension would have sent the wrong message. He should spend those 4 weeks working out, cleaning his act up and reflecting on the quickly fading golden opportunity that he has in front of him.

Chris Carter was in a far worse state many years ago, and he got straight. It can be done.

True. I hope he gets his .... together.

My fear is that if he can't control himself during OTA's or camp or whatever team activity, how is he going to do with 4 weeks?

We can only hope. Truth. Is, he'll probably spend the next 4 weeks playing ps4 and crying that he got jobbed. Let's hope it's the other way around. Cris carter was in a different era... Things were still they're fault you know? Nowadays it's not their fault... yadda yadda yadda! I can't cry foul in Cali because wash and colo decided what they decided. And awesomely enough, them players can't either because its policy!

    Priorities don't resonate these days

That's the bigger issue ,whether you agree on the weed or not!

This fool couldn't manage to beat the system when he knew when the tests were. Now he's automatically in Stage 3 and will stay there the rest of his career. That means he can be tested as up to 10 times a month randomly!

Unless he pulls a total cold turkey quit, he's done! He hasn't shown the self control yet!

Bob Labriola on twitter: Martavis Bryant's appeal is denied. Suspension will hold at four games. He will be eligible to return to lineup for Oct. 12 game in SD.

one more failed test for Bryant and it's going to be 10 games, i'm pretty sure!

True, what gets me is that he just had to pass a few tests and he would have bounced down and out of the program. They've made it super easy to not get suspended and go in and out of the program.

From what I read if you go back to stage 1 you can bounce back and forth as long as you test clean in stage 2. You can even bounce out of the program and back in as long as you meet the tests in stage 1.

The program was really made not to actually be punitive unless you're stupid!

Had no idea we had our own version of Josh Gordon, on our hands, until now...

    This sucks...

I tend to agree, that he won`t have the self-restraint required, to avoid a longer term suspension...

Especially after watching his locker room interview, where he couldn`t stop grinning,

    While giving the required answers...

"I will take the steps I need to take, "... "Blah, Blah Blah"...

Grinning the whole time, like he didn`t take it seriously, at all...

I had no idea it took FOUR failed tests, to get to this point...

I never saw a hint of trouble from him before...

Just goes to show how you don`t know these guys, other than their carefully scripted answers at press conferences/ post game interviews, etc...
    What a shame...

And it forces the rest of the team, and coaches to recite the company line...

"We support him, and want him to get better in his personal life.. That`s more important than football... Blah Blah Blah..."...

No matter how much they know he is being an idiot, and hurting the team`s chances of winning games...

Damnit... Sounds like the Clown`s company line, regarding Manziel/Gordon..

I guess I have to resign myself to the fact, that we are no better than them(especially after watching their 3d preseason game, compared to ours:facepalm:)...

Hate to say, I can`t believe that we are a classier organization, than most in the NFL, anymore...

    Damn Shame.:sigh:

Carter got a big break when Buddy Ryan released him with the "all he does is catch TD's" line instead of telling the world about his drug problems. A heck of a wake up call by a coach that cared about the person as much as the player.

I agree, I hope Dan Rooney is still capable? Just a quick question?
Does the CBA allow the Steelers/NFL to perform drug testing on Martavious Bryant from here on out? And if he fails the next one it is a 10
game suspension, but what happens after that?

so, he failed 4 tests to get the 4 game suspension. does this mean he has been notified 4 different times on separate occasions that he failed the drug test? boy, if that is the case, there is something wrong with him.
