Barkley I can see, but he is ready for a backup spot not a 3, Tebow had his problems after starting 4 for 4 he sputtered, he can't find a fit on this team, but LJ all things considered had a pretty good game stat wise friday, 200 yards 1 TD and no picks, behind a back up Oline and rookie receivers that isnt bad at all..........

Well Boyd was cut... Guess he hadn't shown enough to warrant a pre season snap.

I would like to see LJ get a couple of series with the true 1's just in the event he actually becomes our number 2

According to the KC team site, Chase Daniels is still on the roster. They also have Tyler Bray (Tenn) and Aaron Murray (Georgia). I wouldn't want Bray, and I'm not sure on Murray. KC just lost two tackles to injury. Maybe they'd trade Daniels for Mike Adams?? OK I had to try.

The Saints have an interesting situation. Obviously Brees is the starter but they also have Luke McCown, Ryan Griffin (in Steeler Depot article today) and Garrett Grayson (CSU). I'd really love to get Griffin or Grayson if they only keep 3.

I was actually thinking about McCoy, also... as a third stringer...

I`m thinkin he is currentley a 2nd stringer somewhere, maybe Philly, Washington? I forget.

Agreed, that if Ben goes down we are screwed. Gradkowski, would probably be better than Colt, but I think Colt would be better than Landry.
    Just not sure of availability...?

    GO STEELERS!

I seem to remember reading stuff about Grayson, and how he would be a steal of a pick for a team. I think the Saints took him in the 3rd, though, so I doubt he becomes available unless he's really messing up in camp.

Flynn signed with the Jets, so he's out. I have a feeling Tebow will make the 53 over Barkley. Barkley would be the guy I would want.

You are correct Tebow will make their roster . With the new extra point rules you can see a lot of Teams working on the 2 point conversion . The Zone Read offense can be deadly in that regard. The Steelers even had their BU QB'S running some zone read . Every NFL Team will be running that or some type of direct snap wing t stuff in the not so distant future.

The bottom line is the value of the running QB just went way up with the rule change and that will continue .

If that's the case, and I think you're right, then I would hope that Murphy would be that guy for us. He needs to get some snaps though.

Who are you pulling off the field to make room for Tebow on a 2pt conversion? Our MVP?

A third QB is a waste of a roster spot.

Are you serious, Chase Daniels in his 6 year career has 75 attempts 48 completions and 1 TD, he is a career 3rd stringer....

I'd kick the tires on Barkley if he hit the market.

I'm not sure why Kelly drafted him. He's not a fit for that offense.

I agree. However, I also didn't see Bradford as a fit. I'm trying to figure what the heck Chip is trying to cook up in Philly.

I think Chip gambled on trading up for Mariota.

I think his staff are trying to find a way to let him know, gently, that this is the actual NFL, and not a hyper-realistic version of Madden.

I think Chip considers himself to be the smartest man in the room at all times.

Exactly esp. if he can bu another position and add value . You don't want your main guy running zone read . A running QB is like putting in a short yardage RB that can actually still throw the Football . The new rules will have Teams going for 2 a lot more , I have already seen how Teams handle this in High School. A bunch of Teams have a GL package with a BU QB , this is usually how the young guys get actual in game experience and help the Team win at the same time....

Spread the D thin and force them to guard the pass and the run increase your chances of conversion and do it with a 550k player compared to a 18 Mil a year player . What is Ben's conversion rate in the Redzone ? Not very good the passing attack is not as effective on the GL , pass only QB'S give the defense a huge advantage on a short field like playing 11 on 10 as the QB is a non run threat .

In KC they love Bray and think he is going to be a starter. I just don't see it...

This isn't HS football. I suppose you'd have them running the wing T as well... there is a reason that doesn't work at this level.

The reason it doesn't work is the QB . The system is very sound for short yardage. Just like Coach T running the Power House backfield . When the weather gets bad you will see a bunch of Teams running Zone Read, Wing T, Wish Bone, Power House backfields and all that stuff ... Teams are already trying this and yes it will work .

Why didnt they listen to us all those years ago BFT? We handed them a capable back up and not one person paid us any attention. We are smarter than we look!
