I kinda liked him in college, although I put a lot less value on him than the Texans.

I have to wonder what's going on when a starter playing under his rookie contract is deemed expendable. If he brings anything to the table, why would the Texans be looking to part ways with him? Even as a backup he's relatively cheap. It doesn't add up.

It could just be that he doest fit the scheme at all which does happen when you have a coaching change. He was drafted by Kubiak wasn't he?

So i read a PFT article on this, and the reader comments pretty much universally slammed Swearinger fir being dirty. I don't recall much about what he's done, but one of the plays mentioned was a career ender for Dustin Keller. If indeed he is a dirty player, we don't need that type of addition to the roster. Note that I said "if." I don't know whether he is a dirty player as many claim. It would make the release of a starter playing under a rookie contract more explainable though.

PPF had him ranked 71 out of 87 eligible players in 2013 and 78 of 86 in 2014. He was good in college and was drafted high but couldn't translate college success to the NFL.

I say no to brining him in. Also this is what scares me about Golson. Here's to hoping for the best.

 Funny how the league didn't fine him on numerous hits that people consider "cheap." This is what the NFL has asked for with not hitting high, so take it up with them

What I read today is that he did not want to play special teams so the Texans cut him...no need for that on our team.

What a surprise you're defending him, it must be due to the fact he played at South Carolina.

Steelers were reportedly 1 of the 8 teams that put in a waiver claim.

Alright, thus meaning that Tomlin liked him and Colbert apparently agreed...lol
