Of the WR's still available, which one would have to be there at 56 that would say make you select him over say a Rowe from Utah if he was there at 56 ? To me...I would take Rowe. But I also think the Steelers brass may not be as high on Wheaton as we may think. I believe a WR is a given. I just think it will come later in the draft...4th or 5th rounds. But, is there a WR who you would take at 56 over a CB ?

    Thanks.

Hines was a 3rd rounder right?

    Wallace 3rd.
    Brown was a 6th.
    Bryant was a 4th.

I think we can find a receiver in the later rounds. That being said, it would not surprise me to see a TE come off the board tonight to us. I think it depends upon how the draft breaks.

This may not be the right question.
Most people think that Rowe will be selected early in the 2nd round. So perhaps you should be asking if there are any WR you would take over someone like Rollins or Carter (or some other CB that is likely to be around for the Steeler's pick).

Even though the Steelers could use more WR depth, I'd think that between Bell, Miller, and maybe Archer releasing out of the backfield, there are stronger needs than more WRs.

You're probably right. Rowe was likely a Fantasy choice. But really..I am not high on either of the Collins kids, or either of the FSU guys because of flat out Bad attitudes and Character. Sorry but that is just me. And besides Rowe..who frankly could have been a 1st rounder...and maybe the kid from Miami ( Ohio ).....Rollins...who some people like, there isn't any other CB I like that we can't get in round 3 or 4. I like Grant from Ohio State, and the Smith kid from Florida Atlantic...but not at the cost of using a 2nd rounder.

Agree on TE. In fact I think personally the Steelers like the Ohio State TE, Jeff Heuerman. They might even reach for him a little in round 3...but I hope it's not at least til round 4.

DGB, Maxx Williams would be the only guys in round 2 that would trump CB for me.

If they go CB....Darren Waller is my guy in rnd 3 or 4. Big man that can jump, uses his hands, and goes up to get the ball at its high point.

about the only Off players I am even interested in the rest of the way are DGB, Williams, Marpet, Waller, Huerman, ....a combo of 1WR+1TE maybe 1 OL and the rest would be BSPA Best secondary player available.

We don't need a WR or a RB or a TE or a QB. We don't need to draft a K or a P. We don't even need DL or ILBs. We NEED pass rushers and DBs.

So to answer your question ... none.

WR was our best position on the team last year. We lost Moore who did nothing, and Bryant and Wheaton should be even better. I don't get why people think it is so crucial to draft high round WRs. Assuming Brown does not hold out of course.

Why? you might as well say what RB would you take instead of a CB... there is more need at RB than WR.

    Needs ahead of WR

    CB
    S
    still depth needed at OLB
    TE
    defensive line depth

all are greater needs than WR. Our first four rounds in draft should ALL be on D. Then maybe TE and RB depth. and Tackle depth

    THEN maybe address WR
