Boy, do I hate this post. Not you, and you're not wrong, but the whole idea.

To be that's BS. Suppose we draft him. If he turns out to have been involved in the murder, we cut him right away, right? No more muss or fuss. We don't have him hanging around towing reporters with him. He's just gone.

If media wants to ask, "Why would you draft a player that may have murdered someone? Aren't you against domestic violence?" The answer should be easy: "Of course I'm against domestic violence, but he didn't do it, and if we ever suspect otherwise, we'll cut him." Punishing someone who is innocent until proven guilty - more than that, not even accused of wrongdoing, but knew a victim - doesn't make you harder on domestic violence. It makes you stupider, less just, and a worse GM. Unfortunately there will always be plenty of people that think are stronger if they are less understanding and less interested in details like innocence and guilt.

Collins would have to be a complete fool to be involved with killing anyone right before his draft day but that doesn't mean he isn't. Worst possible timing for his career and income.

Collins has motive if he believes the child is his. Athletes pay ridiculous amounts of child support (like one kid needs 20k a month to survive).

I feel sorry for the victim. It probably was someone she knew or was involved with and that is very sad.

I agree with you that it is morally wrong to deny someone employment based on suspicion but the reality is that it is done every day in all walks of life.

I think a really scummy thing to do would be to draft a 1 round talent in the 6 round and then pay him like a 6 round based on something he is only accused of doing. Seeking to profit off a young man's misfortune would be the lowest of the low.

No one has even accused him. Anybody whose girlfriend or ex-girlfriend is murdered gets questioned by the police. The police question everyone close. At this point he's just a guy who has experienced a tragedy, and it's already cost him millions.

Was he the father? Was she getting ready to hold him hostage for large support $$$, did he "mention" to shady friends that she should be.....

TTF's post seems very strange, the NFL denied a request to remove him from the draft? Who requested that he be removed from draft pool? Himself? NFL teams?

His agent. They wanted him to be removed from the draft, and eligible for the supplemental draft.

Youre right. In my mind he is definitely a suspect though but yeah officially he isn't.

Well there's two types of suspects. There's the, "We don't know who did it, so everyone is a suspect" type, and the "We think this guy did it but haven't proved it yet" type. La'el is the former, and the difference is usually as large as the difference between innocent and guilty.
