The distaste for the Pats comes from an adult POV, because the team/franchise represents all that is wrong with sports today. I have gone through periods of disliking the Raiders and Cowboys and 49ers, but nothing like this. There is something nefarious and sinister about the Pats unlike anything I have ever witnessed as a sports fan. In short, they play by their own rules. Videotaping opponents illegally. Using IR players in practice. Failing to report injuries. Failing to follow protocol with ball security. Failing to follow concussion protocol. The list goes on.

Chuck Noll used the slogan "Whatever it takes," but Belichick has taken that idea to all new levels.

You can poke fun at whoever you want, as a matter of fact, you can full out hate whoever you want. I'm just saying I don't and find it like masterbating without the pay off. Most of my Steeler friends are like you in this respect. They get all power angry that I don't hate Brady and Bellichick. To each their own. Whatever floats your boat.

So you admit every team tries to bend the rules and the Pats - as with most things - just do it better than everyone else. So, in Chuck Noll's case, it's fine. But with the Pats it's deserving of full out scorn?

Just because YOU say the Pats are dirtier than all else, doesn't make it a fact.

Let's try a little case scenario. Steeler hater says we cheat, because Tomlin came onto field during a play.

You say, it wasn't cheating it was just a mistake.

Hater says, "No it wasn't because the league punished him for it, so that is proof he was cheating."

You are doing that very same thing. So I guess it has been proven that the Steelers only win through cheating.

    How is it different?

I'm not sure there was a huge amount of people defending Tomlin after toegate around here.

OK, but how does that change the point? I'm jut saying, just because some hate the Pats doesn't mean that "all their championships come from cheating" as some say which is imbecilic.

I wasn't changing the point, just providing some context as you weren't around here back then. On some forums there may have been a lot of Tomlin support, but not on here.

They are cheaters plain and simple...the reason why coaches are saying spygate was overblown is because they were warned not to make a big deal out of it. Could you just imagine the ramifications if the truth was exposed,it would taint the entire league. If there was nothing on the tapes ask yourself, why were they destroyed?Wouldn't the videos prove more beneficial to prove and enforce their claims it was nothing? How is that deflate gate investigation going? If that was nothing why is it taking so long to solve and resolve. At this rate OJ will find the " real" killers first. Also notice how they changed the ineligible/eligible receiver rule.....it's because the scum-holes would stop at nothing to cheat their way to victory.
the fact that God-dell is always licking Krafts cheese-balls is just another reason to despise them no class losers. You can count me as one of those "imbeciles" but to me all there SBs are tainted.

Those "losers" have been to 6 Super Bowls since 2001 and won 4 of them. Forgive me if you rhetoric falls short of displaying any credibility.

    1. Noll never said that as a justification for bending the rules. It was meant to suggest that every player find the inner will to win: with a key block or catch or takeaway.

    2. I didn't say the Pats were dirty or cheaters. I wrote what I meant: they do whatver they want. The Danny Amendola concussion issue is a case in point. That was sickening. And how/why the NFL has not come down on them is amazing, but not surprising. Do the Pats win the Super Bowl if Amendola receives proper concussion testing? Or if the seahawks pull the same crap with Avril? One team put a player's health ahead of winning, the other didn't and got the prize.

Another fun fight thread I see.... I utterly despise the Pats. I lived up in the Boston area when they won back to back titles in 03-04, and the fans were unbearably arrogant. Just the worst. Especially the guy at work who told me "oh, I used to be a Steeler fan until the Pats got good." True experience.

However, as much as I hate them, I also respect the hell out of them - especially B & B. They earned what they've got. I'll tease Pats fans about asterisks and taint, but they won on the field.

Oh, and for the record - Tomlin was on the field. Do I think it was intentional? Hmmm.... Maybe.

Lloyddestroys I hate to keep bringing this up but you are once again being inconsistent. here is an example

I have repeatedly asked you for proof about your Troy/DL fantasy and you have continued to provide none saying you know it because you saw it. I'm sorry but by your statement above just because you said it doesn't make it so.

And to add fuel to the fire, how in the hell does this happen and a suspension not follow??? We're talking felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance.

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3496481

Aside from the issue that the Pats regularly fail to follow protocol, the NFL simply lets them do whatever the eff they want, with at worst little slaps on the wrist to save face.

This is an issue that goes beyond "we hate them cuz they win."

That would be an emotion of anger, but in a high powered fashion.

Why do you think I am angry? I am the one who took the position of a lack of anger, the bulk of the rest asserted a myriad of feelings of anger. I am not hating. The rest of you are.

And every time you try to ridicule, it is you who actually looks silly. You obviously know little inner info.
