I'd say it's quite a bit different than what JH did. Bell broke the law also drove under the influence could've hurt himself or some other innocent driver.

You kno he did break the law, and he could have hurt some one, but i nvr heard of anyone having a driving accident because they where high on weed, its not the same as beer or whisky. and the fact is Ibet 99% of us on here break the law everyday, buy TXTING and driving, that is against the law also, and causes way more accidents and deaths ........What it boils dwn too is he got punished, and thats fine.. but IMO he did not deserve the Max penality

Then it seems that your issue is with the rules themselves, rather than the specific application in Bell's case.

As I said earlier in this thread, Goodell does seem to be inconsistent and biased in his punishments but in this case, it's pretty straight forward.

And if he really wanted to stick it to us, he could have handed down a 4 game suspension.

That is a truly foolish statement. Marijuana most definitely impairs cognitive function, reaction times etc and has caused more than it's fair share of accidents. Texting has only been a part of society for a decade or so while driving and subsequently driving while under the influence has been around for ten times that long.

And no i don't smoke weed but i did when i was younger.. Its not nearly as bad as pain pills the NFL pushes on players so they can play the game,... but we dont here anything abt that do we;)

Well now you've seen four. Talk about what, pain pills and the nfl? That's an entirely different subject.

A quick internet search will prove that driving under the influence of weed has caused its fair share of accidents.

Thats because weed is illegal. Whats the commercial going to say...

Dont smoke pot, its illegal, but if you absolutely must light up, don't smoke and drive.

Most say weeds not a big deal... Hence the call for legalization etc...

Honestly, if you research it, the extracts (essence/oil) are proven to be a medical holy grail. At the risk of getting political the govt knows this hence a few decades ago really tightened their grasp on making it the bad guy. Docs are looking at heavy jail time for curing folks with cancer in this manner because ultimately it's a huge slight to pharmaceuticals.

Problem is, smoking it ain't where it's at. People always want to throw alcohol and weed into the octagon in a what's worse for what scenario. Bottom line is this... Just like a loaded gun it all comes down to the individual holding the item. Once it's overwhelmingly legal it will rival alcohol in a blink of an eye for no other reason than people can't control what they ingest.

Anyhow. To bring it back to thread involvement, obviously bell and Blount are folks who aren't after the healing effects of this product and were after the ****s and giggles part of it... On the way to a damn game be it pre season or not.
as are most folks these days that want to champion certain arguements for it. Bell broke the law plain and simple. Did he get it harder in Pitt than he would have elsewhere? I think so for whatever reason be it conspiratorial or not. Just seems to be an axe to grind with our team.

in that spirit, I don't excuse him being a dummy and I hope it gets his head straight being hammered with the leagues discipline, but I don't make any excuses in the pro for these dumb asses that put good times in front of responsibilities because they feel it's all good.

glass houses or not as an earlier comment went, we couldn't do it and be afforded the same, why should they?

First video the producer was high.. Had to have been. Second video .. Who the hell rolls a splif like that.. HAHA

These ads are pretty dumb but they do get the point across that its not ok to drive and be high at the same time. Next they need to alert us to the
dangers of driving while tired and suffering from sleep deprivation. Also driving while on medication and last but not least.. Driving if you suffer from depression or are bipolar

Not to start an argument but some of the worst accidents I have encountered were due to someone being under the influence of marijuana. People have this misconception that everyone on marijuana is mellow and that just isn't true. Most would probably fall into that category just like most beer drinkers would fall into that category. The sad truth is no one knows what to expect from someone who is using mind altering substances. If you say you know how someone is going to react you are only fooling yourself and, yes, I can reasonably say I qualify as somewhat of an expert on the subject.
