Yeah, I first noticed him senior bowl week and read up. Then Mayock baby gushed about him at the combine. As much as we need defense, you can never go wrong adding quality OLineman. If he's there in the 2nd rd, I would not be upset...

I'm curious how many around here would be upset if we took an OL in the 1st if the top guys were gone? Like if the top 5 OLB and Waynes, Johnson, and Peters were gone. And I'll throw in Landon Collins. Chances are, one of these 9 will be there but you never know. Also, in this scenario, the only OL of the board at that point is Scherff(which is totally possible. Would you be upset if they went with OL?

didn't sarrett coach at duke? I think they are looking for a guy that can play guard but also multiple positions if needed. Tomlinson, finny, the kid from WVU and a couple of others have been looked at. I would have no problem as you guys know with them taking erving in the first, but I doubt they will. looks like we are looking at 3-5 for an O-lineman. that seems like where most of these guys are projected.

Me too, freak. If Scherff is that at 22, I'd take him.

If they can grab a LT that could hold down the fort for the next 10 years than by all means...

I would like Erving, you can never have enough versatile lineman. And he just may be BPA at 22. Tomlinson projects to guard but could probably play Center in a pinch, maybe fill in at tackle for an injury. He's another versatile guy. Either would be a great addition imo.

Sarrett was an offensive quality control coach at Duke.

Idk about BPA at 22, but I'm sure he is someone we are considering if OG is actually in play at 1.22 (which I really hope it isn't)

OL wouldn't be an ideal pick for me at 1.22, but I can't say I'd be totally upset... Maybe a little bit upset haha I just feel like all the OL that would be available to us at our spot are guards, and I just would rather us not go that route.

My gut instinct is telling me that were either going to (A) trade up about 5-7 spots to snag a OLB that we like that has fallen some (unlikely scenario, but possible) (B) trade up ahead of Cincy to take FS Landon Collins from Bama or (C) stay put and snag CB Kevin Johnson from Wake.

Yup, I think we'll force a DB or OLB one way or the other, whether it's a trade up situation or taking the best of who's left at #22. I don't even think they're trying to hide it.

I don't see why they couldn't trade DOWN a few spots if someone wants #22 and still get a solid player in need. I'd love to see them do this, maybe to #26, then have a team like New Orleans at #31 want Maxx Williams or someone and trade up. Pull a Belichick and get a $***-ton of picks...there is some good depth at the positions we need this year

Making moves during the draft is always easier said than done, especially in the first. That being said, with Detroit sitting right behind us I can see pulling off a trade down scenario as having a much higher chance of success this year than in years previous. If our targets are off the board (likely situation) I could see a few teams wanting to jump ahead of Detroit in order to snag the best remaining DT.

Really, we almost have to force a DB or OLB... Although I'm almost positive that there is gonna be someone that we are really high on that is in the "go" area, whether its at 22 or at a reasonable trade up spot.

They could of they really wanted to, although in my opinion I'd rather stay put or trade up this year. I like 22 better than 28 and gaining a third, but that's just me.
