I could care less about Robinson, but the FO must feel comfortable with the draft depth for CB and OLB. Looks like they'll be headed to the draft with 2 vey glaring needs. Would have prefered one was addressed via FA, so they don't have to be perfect in the draft. Unless they still have something up their sleeves.

 

I wouldn't say cheap, I would say teams like SD, washington, Miami etc... are over paying average players, now the really good ones will be looking at this and will be asking for $4 - $5 million. These idiot teams who are going nowhere are raising the asking prices.

 

Yeah I wouldnt have paid 3m for him...I would have rather paid McCain that then bring in someone from outside the system and pay that much (not saying i really would give mccain 3m, but just making a point).

 

Maybe the Steelers should consider trading for a veteran corner. Obviously not someone that is elite or expensive, but I am sure there is a $1-3 million CB out there that a team would be willing to deal for a 5th or 6th round pick. Perhaps even consider dealing one of our over abundant ILBs (Williams if he has value to a team).

I am not sure we can fix both the OLB as well as the secondary positions all at once in the draft alone.

On another note, if there was a team willing to deal either a proven OLB or CB who was youngish for a 1st round pick, would you take the deal for the proven player or take a chance on a draft prospect?

Probably because the jump in the cap. I too prefer they don't fall for that trap.

 

McCain was overpaid? I don't think so. Played quite well when called upon. I was hoping that McCain would have been back. But that's just me. Better hope Ol' Meltdown comes around. They will draft a corner 1st or 2nd. And hopefully Butler gets him on the field. Right away.
